ElConfidencial is reporting that a record deal was agreed with Adidas to renew our shirt sponsorship agreement.

The previous deal was to end in July 2012, and since this summer, RM was open to negotiate with other firms, including Nike.

RM wanted to maintain their relationship with Adidas, but also wanted to bump the deal to 50M, 20M higher than the last agreement.

Nike, who is paying 30M to Barcelona, is said to have made an offer, but not matching RM expectations.

So an agreement was reportedly found with the German brand for 45M/year for 13 years, roughly a 585M deal.

Adidas also sought to have a privilege area in the new shopping center the club will build.

Nothing is confirmed for sure but, is it a good idea to sign a contract over so many years? sounds way too long.

I assume if it's for this long, there are predetermined increases in value at certain points in time in the deal...

Yah but Adidas pay's the most.

Plus they make, by far, the best kits (design+ quality). And as an end user who's been buying R.M kits regularly for the past decade (unlike most). That's all I really care about, frankly.
