Re: What is the deal with Juve?
To the original poster and anyone interested in knowing more, here is a new article on the management of Juventus written by Kris Voakes of Goal.com: http://www.goal.com/en/news/1717/editorial/2011/06/13/2528839/theyve-bailed-out-fiat-spent-450m-on-english-cricket-are
Very interesting, and outlines a few of our woes.

Surely spending 15 mil on the likes of Benaga for midfield rather than signing Pirlo on free makes more sense if they have money . Maybe they need a new DOF .
Signing one of the best CMs for free is a bad move? :?:
Our reported budget is like 60-100 mill, but we are spending like 30 redeeming players....
We havent spent any of the money yet on players this year, all free transfers so far. Thats a good thing if you ask me... We still have money to spend, and time to spend it wisely.
And yes Tony, we need a WC SS.

Re: What is the deal with Juve?
The management is superb, it seems. They need to get their act together on the pitch. Next year will be very important, the rising can't be postponed much longer without substantial damage to the brand Juve.JuvenelCuore wrote:To the original poster and anyone interested in knowing more, here is a new article on the management of Juventus written by Kris Voakes of Goal.com: http://www.goal.com/en/news/1717/editorial/2011/06/13/2528839/theyve-bailed-out-fiat-spent-450m-on-english-cricket-are

If he is still one of the best midfielders without any injury concern Milan wouldnt have let him go .Simple as that . If u are building for future there is no point in buying past his best , injury prone , not good enough for your rival , type of player particularly when u have large money .
Maybe i am talking of Joe cole experience but these sort of signing wont get u far . Pirlo is a huge gamble that Juventus dont that need to take or worse cant afford .

we have to cover many positions so we simply cant go around and buy players for inflated prices to cover up our positions..we need to act smart in the mkt this time as well

To be fair, those wing backs are nothing more than they are replacing. More average players... I almost hope they prove me wrong...
Ofc they are average players, were depending on Swiss internationals... this is pathetic. They are just solid. I still consider it more of a risk...
well the swiss horrible defense managed to hold Spain...and win the match in the WC

babun1024 wrote:This year, I was very bored when I followed the CL. Inter and Bayern looked like their shadows from last year,Mancs don't have enough quality in the middle of the pitch, Chelski need to renew half of their squad (They're the AC Milan of a year ago), Man Sh!tty might spice up the competition (They can park the bus unlike Arsenal). So far so good... All of these clubs can come back next year to make it interesting.
Now,I really miss Liverpool and Juve in Europe. Liverpool are slowly coming back into their own, might need a year or two to get into their former CL monster form back. Juve, dear old lady, I waited 4 years for them to come back. What is the deal with them currently? I thought they would rebuild as soon as they got back from relegation...All I see are a bunch of average players in the squad with the odd big signing every year. Your management signs one top player per year, expect him to carry you and then sell next year afterwards as flops...
Krasic is cool, I really like him. I don't blame him that he was burnt out in the second half of the season because he is the only creative force there. A striker! Juve always had a deadly striker and a midfielder... No top strikers in 4-5 years!
What is the board doing? If you want to get back, you need a top striker and a very creative midfielder and let the others do the dirty job with Buffon (some cattenaccio football to get into CL places and then spend more). What is the current state of your management? Is there any way, you guys will be a top team gain in two years?
You know, once your name disappears from marketing, it would be super hard to gain fans outside of Italy = a huge source of income

Re: What is the deal with Juve?
We have now decent FB not WC but decent for next season. All we need now is SS and LW and maybe CM but we should stick up with Melo but that is my opinion.Although that SS and LW MUST be World Class players otherwise Juve wouldnt get even 3-4 place

Re: What is the deal with Juve?
Just reading through some of the posts in this thread.Oh boy
Indeed how things can change but fortunately for Juve not only that it has been a such a remarkable turnaround but how quickly its happened as well something i honestly which i would've never even thought of 2 years ago.
Imo as much as Conte has transformed this current team into such a top outfit with some great transfers in the process as well from Marotta,i'd like to say the poor financial situation of both Milan clubs(plus who both had several ageing stars) made our path towards to the top a bit more easier imo.

oh dear, let's not go there R23. I know you say that in jest, but there are many sensitive Juve supporters who are a few keystrokes from completely losing it.

Re: What is the deal with Juve?
He showed he was a very good fullback at Lazio though.... even then he was well above average.
I know he was a epic douche( probably still is tbh ) but that doesn't take away from his performances.

I love Licht's asshole attitude it's brilliant. You want players like him on big occasions.
Also, this thread was a great read
Melo, Krasic, Ziegler and Pirlo turned out to be pretty good in a 4-4-2
