Real Madrid enter race for G. Cahill

Spanish giants Real ­Madrid, managed by former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, are now ­contemplating making a move for Cahill in ­January.

They are prepared to see off rival bids from the Premier League and securing the ­player’s services for free.

If Cahill ­decides to move abroad he can sign a pre-contract ­agreement with Madrid and then ­complete a ­Bosman free transfer in the summer.

The interest in Cahill from ­European clubs is increasing. Milan ­giants AC and ­Inter, Germany’s top club Bayern Munich and French club Paris St ­Germain also poised to enter the race to secure his signature.

Cahill’s status in the world game has been enhanced by his ­appearances for England this season where he has ­produced some impressive ­displays.

Potential buyers believe that by next summer ­Cahill could be an established centre-back in the England team at the 2012 ­European Championships.
