Inter Milan see Barcelona ace Villa as Eto’o replacement

Inter Milan are planning a raid on Barcelona for David Villa.

With Samuel Eto'o pushing Inter to accept a bid from Anzhi for his transfer, the Nerazzurri are considering replacements - and Villa is high on the agenda.

Milan sources say Inter chiefs are convinced Barca would be prepared to part with Villa for the right price - particularly with Alexis Sanchez now having arrived from Udinese.

Inter are expected to sell Eto'o to Anzhi this week for between €20-30 million.

Messi plays as striker now, Villa was forced onto the wings towards the end of last year, so it's possible.

Not that I don't rate villa highly, I just don't feel like it would be the right move. I'd rather get a young star, like Rossi or hazard.

As for Villa, he would flop in Serie A

if we're intending to sign an expensive replacement for Eto'o we would have accepted the Tevez swap, but we didnt, and that means we're probably going for someone young/cheap

Villa wouldn't suit our system anyways.
