Re: Spain NT discussion
Casillas is still only 33. So unless he starts declining or another Spanish GK suddenly becomes elite, he can carry on until 2018 imo.

That squad is crying out for a winger like Navas, surprised he was left out.
Still, that selection of AMs is crazy.

Torres? Is Del Bosque mental, or is he confused and thinks it is a Rugby World Cup?!

Re: Spain NT discussion
Why do people care so much about the 3rd choice striker lol? Negredo and Soldado are both shit as well. At least Torres is influential in the dressing room.
Pedro is amazing for Spain so I'm not sure why people are laughing about his inclusion. Navas definitely should have been picked but apparently he was carrying an injury....otherwise, it's a pretty straightforward team selection.
Juanfran is most definitely better than Scrubvajal btw.

Apziculeta, new arbeloa of spanish NT . Stands out from the rest of the players because of his stone age ball technique.

Re: Spain NT discussion
VDB dropped the ball big time by not calling up Gabi. Although I'm not sure if he's injured of not.
Anyway VDB will never change his squad style simply because he has had no reason to do so. Spain will probably not win the world cup and only then will it be obvious that he should have made changes.

I don't think making changes can help Spain to win WC 2014. It's unlikely we will win but if we somehow do they it will be due to a sustained dynamic which effectively means that almost all of the key players remain as is. To win with changes needs lot more time and establishment of a new dynamic which in spite of all the efforts will probably never be as successful as the current one. This was the golden generation which has already won more than I could say anyone in football history has ever done. This is going to be their last salute. All I hope for is that they got out fighting with their heads held high and don't end up like France 2002, Germany 1998 or worst of all Italy 2010.
