No, you're right. I think Zidane with all of his flaws can thrive in an all star-studded team because he's a legend of the game and commands respect in the dressing room.

But he would be a terrible, terrible, terrible choice for a club looking to build their team from the ground up or during a transition. He's simply not that guy.

Zidane isn’t flawed tactically; he’s shown his flexibility in a free flowing 3-4-3 recently, giving marcelo a free box to box role, and playing Isco as a false nine which was honestly the right move.

His issue is who he picks. I mean, those players I listed above absolutely did not deserve minutes. And he’s frozen out superior players because he doesnt like them. It sounds stupid, but Zidane has a track record of this. After regui, Hakimi, and recently valverde just to name a few, it makes his job harder then it has to be. So instead of dropping those players, he plays pragmatic and we fight for our life every game because he’d rather die then bench someone like asensio.
