Also Gemma (Katey Sagal) is really really old in this one Laughing ... but i mean damn, i have to say hot milf material right there in the way she dresses, owns her sexuality and clearly has a big presence in the family!

Alpha Female behaviour, gotta love it

Spartacus was great, as long as you're down for the gratuitous sex and violence. Just don't go in thinking this is another Rome. Entirely different show.

It's also very over the top, kinda like Banshee. I loved both, but it's definitely not for everybody.

Currently hooked to Fauda..An Israeli series about the struggle between Israel and Palestine.

I would definitely recommend it to those who like some spy , action and political story.

The Sopranos
Seinfeld
The Wire
Dexter(1-4S)
Rectify

HM: The Haunting of House Hill, Breaking Bad, and The Pacific.

The Pacific is superior to Band of Brothers; BOB falls in line with most of Hollywood superficial depictions of war- Honor, valor, commodity, good vs evil, etc.

The Pacific depicts war as hell on earth, those premises are meaningless.

Haunting of Hill House was very satisfying. Very well acted and superbly directed. Oddly enough even had its moments of horror and did not go overboard like any horror film does, by exposure.

That episode at the funeral home with the one-shot camera was a masterpiece. Enjoyed the series.

I put it in the Honorable mentions mainly due to the fact it is 1 season, so it doesn't have a longevity. But it is without a doubt the best i have seen in recent years. It will be interesting to see if Mike Flanagan produces another hit in season 2 with Bly Manor.

Back on the Pacific argument, I agree. Pacific is more about the war and the mayhem, the reason Band of Brothers is more popular is because it tells you the story of a company from start to finish you get attached to them like you're a member of the Easy company travelling through their story.

Pacific on the other hand is individual guys with no glorification. I think its probably because Pacific is also a culmination of separate stories while BoB already had a few books on the company, plus those guys were still alive to give inputs when the series aired?

That said both were totally different types of wars. Pacific was quite a lot of mayhem and it has been excellently portrayed in the series.

I really liked The Pacific but Band of Brothers is on another level. I didn't see a lot of good vs evil in BoB. There were a lot of gray areas in that show.

I think we should have miniseries in a different list. It's hard to compare them with multiple-season TV shows.
