The kid has an AMAZING story:
Born in Irvine, Scotland, he loves to dance and as a young boy actually had hopes of becoming a professional ballet dancer. Billy lives with his widowed father, Jackie, and older brother, Tony, both coal miners out on strike (the latter being the union bully), and also his maternal grandmother, who has Alzheimer's disease and once aspired to be a professional dancer.

So, Billy's father sent him to the gym to learn boxing, but Billy dislikes the sport. He happens to see a ballet class that is using the gym while their usual basement studio is temporarily being used as a soup kitchen for the striking miners. Unknown to Jackie, Billy joins the ballet class. When Jackie discovers this, he forbids Billy to take any more ballet. But, passionate about dancing, Billy secretly continues lessons with the help of his dance teacher, Sandra Wilkinson.

Mrs. Wilkinson believes that Billy is talented enough to study at the Royal Ballet School in London, but due to Tony's arrest during a clash between police and striking miners, Billy misses the audition. Mrs. Wilkinson tells Jackie about the missed opportunity, but fearing that Billy will be considered to be gay, both Jackie and Tony are outraged at the prospect of him becoming a professional ballet dancer.

Over Christmas, Billy learns his best friend Michael is gay. Billy is supportive of his friend. Later, Jackie catches Billy dancing in the gym and realises his son is truly gifted; he resolves to do whatever it takes to help Billy attain his dream. Mrs. Wilkinson tries to persuade Jackie to let her pay for the audition, but he replies that Billy is his son and he does not need charity. Jackie attempts to cross the picket line to pay for the trip to London, but Tony stops him. Instead, his fellow miners and the neighbourhood raise some money and Jackie pawns Billy's mother's jewellery to cover the cost, and Jackie takes him to London to audition.

Although very nervous, Billy performs well, but he punches another boy in frustration at the audition, fearing that he has ruined his chances of attaining his dream. He is rebuked by the review board, but when asked what it feels like when he is dancing, he struggles for words but describes it as being "like electricity". Seemingly rejected, Billy returns home with his father. Sometime later, the Royal Ballet School sends him a letter of acceptance, coinciding with the end of the miners' strike, and he leaves home for London, where he discovers his love for football and joins the Chelsea academy.

What a beautiful, touching story ffs

I really hope RG bans you for this.

Why would any ban him for sharing such a touching backstory on who is the greatest CM talent to ever exist.

Thank you for sharing Hans, I look forward to telling my grand kids about this story

Plot twist: Hans is actually a Scotsman called Jackie. He is also gay.

"Tonight's Premier League match between Manchester City and Arsenal has been postponed as a precautionary measure following the announcement on Tuesday that Evangelos Marinakis has contracted COVID-19," a statement from the Premier League read.

"Thirteen days ago, Olympiacos played Arsenal at

Emirates Stadium in the UEFA Europa League and Mr Marinakis, the Greek club's owner, met with several Arsenal squad members and staff.

Just cancel the league tbh. United, Liverpool, Leicester and Chelsea get CL since City are banned. Liverpool denied the title ffs. You love to see it.

Ugh...cancelled European leagues, winter World Cup the season after in Qatar. What a shit time for football.
Although it would be nice to see Liverpool's long awaited title getting spoiled.

Cancel the league and announce Liverpool as winners now. Disgusting its still being continued where as in every other major league some measures are taken.
On a Low key note, it will be a underwhelming title win for them, and I will personally take that right now Wink, over every other scenario like closed doors etc. I mean closed doors mean fans will probably still come and crowd outside the stadiums. So, ultimately there will be no point. So, yea just announce them as winners and cancel everything else after that like trophy parade and all eco smile. As for the top 4 qualification, well its sad, but yea let the teams in the current top 4 positions qualify. This is way more important than football. So, eventho it sucks, we got to do everything to stop its spreading further and further.

can't declare them winners though if they mathematically never sealed it.
Season should then just be declared null and void.

^ I'm assuming that means while corona outbreak is still on-going. I would understand that. If it's deemed safe to play (in empty stadiums), I don't see why they would refuse.

That said, the season feels as good as over to me. It would just feel weird to continue the season after a several months' break.

as long as the players dont have the virus then they should let them play behind closed doors. we only have 9 games to play and if you play 2 games per week its only 4 weeks to finish the season. just get it done ffs.

And how can you be sure the players, (referees and coaching staff) don't have the virus? You'd have to test everyone the day before a match, every time. That won't be possible any time soon.

if you test them now and isolate them for 3 weeks then you will know they dont have the virus. then make them stay away from other people ( thats what we are doing anyway ) for the 4 weeks it takes to finish the season.

Nishy is right though I feel 5-10 years ago we would not have said that given we were younger and most definitely more emotional about the beautiful game along with the scale of our lives being smaller. Though not that I care less, if that makes sense. But you do realise there is a lot more to football, in life and especially in this current climate.

Sepi made a thread about this, in regards to Liverpool, in our section: if the season is made void, would you bother any more? There is no footballing reason we wouldn't end our 30 year drought this year, everyone knows we're as good as won the title. If it's decided this season doesn't count, I'm done with club football for at least a few years.

soooo

there's a lot of talk going around that the league has plans to start back up in a few weeks (games behind closed doors, obviously)

genuinely missing weekly football especially at a time like this, can't help but think it'll end up a disaster though with multiple people catching corona within a week or two

What if a player tests positive a day or two before the restart, can his team still play? It's going to be a shambles if they go through the trouble of making this work only to find out on D-day that there's one or two teams who cannot play for a couple of weeks because of covid cases.

Bundesliga is due to continue on May 9, will be interesting to see how it goes.
