But when I see one team flying ahead of everybody else with 18 points in a league where competitiveness is supposed to be a trademark, I can't help but question the credibility of that claim.

Quote is more relevant than ever. But shocking that the Spurs manager is throwing shade at Wenger. Must be the only Spurs fan that wants Wenger gone loool
Eh, Wenger threw shade first. Poch is just throwing some back at him now that Arsenal look in their worst state for decades, will be trophyless this season (probably) and miss CL. What possessed Wenger to have the balls to throw shade at Poch I don't know, especially since Poch is one of the most respectful managers in the league, but it's good to see Poch give it back to him. Not like he's wrong, either.

This has been the case for ages now, I been saying for last 3 seasons that there's no outstanding team in the whole of Europe and the level at the top sucks.
I'm genuinely not impressed by anybody, Madrid have won back to back not because they are dominant but because the competition sucks.
I say the same this year, I see no outstanding team at the top. When Bayern won under Heynckes it was obvious and Barca under Guardiola it was obvious or even Yanited under Fergie.
I haven't seen that level of quality for a long time now tbh.

Conte on Sky criticism: "I'm not so stupid to play open against City and lose 3-0 or 4-0. If I remember, Arsenal played vs them like that and you criticised them a lot because they conceded 3 goals in 30 mins. The pundits must use their heads when you speak about tactics" #CFC

That's a little harsh. Carlo's Madrid was head and shoulders the best team in Europe when they won the CL in 2014, and they maintained that godly level throughout the first half of the 2015 season setting a new European record of consecutive wins.
Enrique's treble year with Barcelona can also be added to the dominant European victories. I don't rate him as a manager...at all. But his side was almost unplayable that year even though they started playing at a horrible level.

Disagree on Barca under Luis Enrique, they had a front 3 most of the world couldn't figure out but I didn't feel like they were miles above everyone.

Firenze wrote:Funny thing is, that's what the top 4 has looked like it would be for a while now, Chelsea have looked poor all season but kept getting results, I knew they would eventually drop out. Disastrous transfers from them, gonna need to invest heavily to get back into top 4 IMO. Sounds strange since they're reigning champs.
Should we be surprised though? This is every Chelsea season ever since the end of Mourinho's first spell.
Champions then LOL season.

Incredible regression when you think they were the only English club who used to consistently make the latter stages

firmino is and always will be a better player than lukaku. everything the man u team do is geared to getting lukaku on the end of everything. firmino has a far better all round game and firmino is not even the top scorer at liverpool and he still has better stats than lukaku.Firenze wrote:Nishankly wrote:Roberto Firmino has both scored and assisted in different #PL matches this season - more than any other player
HE SUCKS. Lukaku sucks. Lukaku probably overtakes him tomorrow too when he scores a hattrick against Palace.

Except Firmino's never had a better season than Lukaku in his life. MAYBE this year, because he isn't cut out for a top team. They're both bang average, but this is Lukaku's worst season in a long time and this is Firmino's best ever. Firmino has a lot to do to even be rated like Lolkaku is. One decent season won't change that.
inb3 but but they have different roles. Both starting CF for their team.

Salah's been your best player since pre-season, no idea what you're talking about. Remains the only reason you're relevant too. Gone in the summer and replaced with Tadic
