Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
Yeah you gotta consider how many PlayStation's you have left in you so hopefully they can release at least a GTA and rdr every generation. Quality over quantity I agree but there's a limit.

Yikes, had no clue this was coming out at the end of the month. In the middle of a great couple of months.

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
There's a rumor going around about the map, i'll spoiler it as people have different levels of sensitivity towards this stuff.
- Spoiler:
- They have included the entire RDR1 map next to the obvious new locations. ( i would assume it's joined together seeing as Blackwater has been confirmed) The only other game i remember doing anything like this was Pokemon Gold and Silver so it would be absolutely insane
Still have a hard time believing it though tbh.

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
Not looking at that spoiler although I'm pretty sure I know what it is
If you've paid close attention it makes sense.
Anyway any reactions to the second trailer? I just love that they seem to be going out of their way to create a world that doesn't just exist to please the player. The world exists on its own almost uncaring to the player and in fact at times seems to happen TO the player.
I imagine it is such a difference to live a character in a world where you have no clue what might happen next vs a world where NPC's and the such simply respond to you being there.
RDR tried this and did alright for its time. GTA V was a progression. It seems like R* has been building to this for some time and it's hit a crescendo.
Ever since the first fable we've been hearing of games where "your actions have consequences". That game was wonderful and one of my go to's growing up (Fable II was excellent as well). However it seems we might finally have an iteration of that phrase where it feels more perceptibly real.
I haven't touched games, beyond Overwatch when that came out, for several years so perhaps I am not giving due credit to recent games like Witcher 3 where this might have been a great feature, but it is a reason why I think RDR2 will be special and I look forward to seeing it.

Witcher 3 did do that but not to the extent RDR2 is claiming it's going to.

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
When I say that I mean the NPC interactions stuff.
Witcher 3 did a lot of things with regards to your decisions having consequences, side quests not being filler and argubly being of higher quality than most games main path and open world storytelling in general.
NPCs did get on with their lives without you but not to extent RDR2 seems to.
The difference between Rockstar is claiming and other games is they seem to claim that an NPC interactions are a lot more dynamic which in turn makes the overall world feel more alive.
Games have had open world games which NPCs have cycles where they live out their daily routine and don't just wait for you or games where you're decisions matter but I don't recall a game where the NPC interactions are as in depth as they claim.

Pre-ordered for the first time in my life
Wasn't sure where to get it from. Amazon? Rockstar warehouse? Gamestop?
I read that R* warehouse ships to you day of so I ordered from them.
You guys do a digital download or physical? I went with physical so I can have the box and all that's in it around. Digital is great for other reasons but...I want the box haha

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
Only experience I have with BR is a few games in Player Unknown's yadayada. I thought it was surprisingly fun, but I'm getting older, and the simple thing of knowing which items to pick up from the corpses of those I had killed, made my head explode. Would've enjoyed it a lot more if I didn't have to organize my inventory and crap. I'm sure it's just a matter of getting used to it, but as a veteran CoD player, I prefer to just run and gun and not having to deal with all of that. I'm in my 30s now ffs.

Been surprisingly quiet. Even the trophy leak was apparently fake. I didn't look at the trophies so I don't really know if those looked legit or not.
But we're 9 days out and beyond established sites writing previews that include the entire opening sequence (again, apparently...I haven't read them), we haven't seen any spoilers.
Rockstar has done a good job keeping a lid on it.

Re: Red Dead Redemption 2
It's the last couple of days close to release i'm worried about.
With God of War people who got the game early uploaded really spoiler captions for their videos and titles.
And it's hard to avoid it because it just shows up in your youtube suggestions lol.
