Spurs vs Liverpool

Last of our continuous away games ffs!

We play the chokers of last season, It'll be a good test.

Team news:

1. Sakho has been shunned.
2. Moreno could start.
3. Matip is fitter and Sadio Mane is back!
4. Karius, Lucas and Gomez still injured. Ojo is back in training!
5. Can and Origi will have late fitness tests.
6. Coutinho's major doubt.

Expected team:


Klavan and Milner could continue instead of Matip and Moreno.
Nice depth.
Should concede.
Couldn't care less about which team Spurs puts out.

Getting a result will be really good even if its a point. Expected 4 points realistically from the first 3 when the fixtures came out.

Decent possibility i might miss this.

Possibilities? Kane starts in Alli's spot and Janssen up top (don't expect it). Lamela and Eriksen may swap sides...probably will during game anyway. Someone could fill for Dier or Wanyama (Mason or Carroll could) but I don't expect it. Lloris still out.

Just to kind of finish up the OP post i guess. Nothing crazy to see from Spurs. I could see the high press doing well against Dier and Wanyama if they both play.

Spurs team look really solid. I mean it will be great match if we are at our best in attakcing sense and if Spurs are at their best in defending sense. The only way to win this game is press and attack all the time, otherwise Spurs are going to eat us alive, in case we play Hendo as the deepest midfielder.

The only positive news that Lloris is still out. He provides so much stability to that Spurs defense and I have always seen him, single handedly keeping Liverpool away from scoring.

It would be a good game, Poc vs Klopp !

Tottenham don't bunker up so this could be a goal fest. They're a solid team, but we're better.


Something like that anyway. Henderson probably starts despite his poor showings so far.

After the failure at Burnley it would be very important to get at least a draw. Don't know what to expect, though.

If Coutinho is out for sure then I would definitely go with what Curt posted with Milner at LB instead of Moreno.

Can's niggle last game might mean he misses also so having Henderson again at DM  Would honestly rather Stewart start.

Its Spuds ffs. I completely expect Klopp to have this by the neck.

Good to see Matip for the first time.

Hendo - Wijnaldum as CMs is questionable.

Not really a fan of Firmino being our 1st choice striker.

because he knows what happened at Arsenal when he celebrated !

A draw is OK, but we could have got more... Didn't think our counter-attack goal was offside.

-I guess we were bit unlucky in terms of referee decisions.
-We played well
-but again paid the price for not scoring more
-a small possesion from Spurs for a brief period was enough to concede
-no midfield controll when needed in that second half
-Mane, Coutinho and Firmino looked real deal in the first half
-Wij also played well considering he is still learning that role
-CB partnership looked damn solid to me, hope they get to play whole season together
- Clyne, something is wrong with him
- Henderson coming to his best slowly, encouraging signs for us knowing that he is the captain

good show by team, should have converted the chances though. mane going to drag Liverpool into top 4 methinks. also matip looked good. Liverpool's main problem for me isn't defence it's midfield. no one to control the pace of game and steady the ship hence prone to waves of attacks leading to silly mistakes by defence resluting in conceding goal.

Coutinho should have scored that chance in the 4th minute. Wtf kind of shot is that in that situation.

Lallana is the most useless player in history of the world. The only thing he did right all game was incorrectly called offisde. Mane' goal should have stood.

Hendo in DM is useless. Lucky that Lovren-Matip played well for the most part.

If our CMs are going to be Henderson and Wijnaldum, I don't think we can expect much midfield control and build-up. We were mostly bypassing the midfield today, a lot of long passes - both aerial and on the ground - through the midfield for the attacking quartet to run onto. We shouldn't ask too much from our midfield if we're going to field just one out-and-out central midfielder.

pls buy LB, Milner should be playing central over Henderson and GW.

It's FIVE dropped points in two games we totally dominated. It's disappointing. Hopefully things will be better in two weeks time.
