Where will he go?
Re: Where will Higuain go?
He should stay with Napoli tbh, but I can totally see him moving to Arsenal

Re: Where will Higuain go?
You are forgetting the real reason he won't move to Juventus.
It's because in all likelihood he won't pay 50m euros out of his own pocket to make sure the transfer goes through tbh.

Why not though? It's a great career move. Besides the guy is friends with likes of Messi and Aguero, surely they can lend some for the better future of friend.

Re: Where will Higuain go?
Why would you pay elite level money for a guy YOU KNOW has a 75% chance of messing things up in a big game. You don't really need him for the fodder games... so it kind of makes little sense.
I personally think that he's like Di Natale... very good scorer but needs to be in a club that won't put insane amounts of pressure for him.

Anyway yeah , for me he will stay to Napoli. 100 % for me .
It's hard to deal with De Laurentiis, he asks 90 mln and he is not going to change idea. No clubs 'd give it for Higuain.
Higgy is basically cagged under Napoli.

Re: Where will Higuain go?
I think he will, and should, stay at Napoli. Atletico would be his best option otherwise but they wont give the money.
Anyway, Napoli have been spending and making ambitious moves for a while, if Higuain (or his brother) are not seeing it then thats on them. Benitez (and Higuain himself) left them without CL for 2 seasons so they had a shorter ceiling. Did he think he was joining Juve? Napoli needs work. Even Juve wasn't making huge signings in the transfer market for a couple of years of being champions.

Re: Where will Higuain go?
Higuain might have choked in important games alright but lets not forget he broke a 60 yr old record. He's in the form of his life. So interested clubs don't necessarily look at his choking record, rather how consistent he's been over the entire year. By the same logic, no elite club would've bought Zlatan.
Big game records are for fans who love pissing contests and who look at these things with magnifying lenses. Its a trivial matter for football clubs. People were saying Tevez was a CL choker before we bought him and he then went on to disprove that myth.
Can't believe i just defended Higuain

Re: Where will Higuain go?
Only reason why i don't think PSG happens is because of Cavani IMO.
Higuain maybe better or worse i really don't care but i'm not here to debate that, issue is he and Cavani would never work as a partnership and unless PSG are dumber than i think they are they surely know that.
So either they sell Cavani and get a different type of forward to go with Higuain as they see him as an upgrade to Cavani i don't think it happens.

Re: Where will Higuain go?
He is going to stay (this season at least). If Napoli show any sign of improvement next season, I don't see him leaving. If the opposite happens, Napoli are going to sell him to a big club playing in the Champions League (Atletico, Arsenal or even Liverpool if they manage to qualify) for 50-60 million euros at most, considering it's going to be the last year in his contract.

Re: Where will Higuain go?
What i mean to say is big game records are often exaggerated by fans. Zlatan has one of the poorest big game records yet he's won plenty. Robben was a certified choker before 2013.
Calling him a Di Natale is just
And you talk about pressure? Wasn't he top scorer for Madrid at one point? Playing at Madrid is the epitome of a high pressure environment let alone succeeding at the club which he has there.

Re: Where will Higuain go?
In League play, you can overcome bad big game performances because the points count the same against the rest... so Ibra did very well as he just kills lesser competition where he can impose his strength and technique. Higuain has always been that way too.
But competitions where you face big teams to go through is another matter. They have a hard time. They don't flop 100% of those... but it's a good 60-80%. If you plan on trying to win CL or NT cup competitions, Higuain or Ibra aren't the players you want.
It's entirely psychological.... so it's difficult to fix. Something has to click. It never did for Ibra and it hasn't yet for Higuain.

Merge the two threads please.
I don't think his move to Juve is guaranteed by any means.

Re: Where will Higuain go?
The thing with Higuain (potentially) going to Juve is that they aren't buying him to score ALL the goals. They're buying him to supplement their attack. At Juve he won't have all of the pressure to be the only scorer. Instead, he'll be asked to act as a focal point in attack, be the poacher/true #9, and pull defenses in order to open space for Dybala.
Now, there are obvious differences in quality and system, but the underlying concept is not dissimilar from what he worked within at Real Madrid. There he was asked to be the focal point of the attack, act as the poacher #9, pull defenders out of position, and open opportunities for Ronaldo. He was not asked to carry the team with goals.
I have to say...should this go through... Juve is looking pretty solid for next season:
-----------Dybala---Higuain
-----------------Pjanic
Sandro-----Pogba---Khedira-----Alves
-----Chiellini---Bonucci---Barzagli
------------------Buffon
