Maybe hmm

But seriously there's aspects which is better and worse.

Fullbacks are probably worse going forward but better defensively, Henderson and Wilshere as a pairing is worse than Alli and Rooney imo mainly because of the big drop off to Henderson lol.

Forwards are probably better though.

Again, not his fault the players can't stick the ball in the goal Laughing

Although I do question his decision to sub Lallana and leave Henderson on. We needed invention in the final third.

England did everything but score. Too many crosses, though. Apart from the CBs England have no one good in the air. Useless to bump in those crosses. Should try to play it on the ground more, doesn't matter if you lose the ball near the opponent's box. Plenty of positives in England's game, but need to attack smarter.

Btw, RG, tell me again how incredible Wilshere is and how he must be in the squad... Atrocious performance. As if he hadn't been playing football all season long. Oh, wait...

Funny enough England are likely going to face Portugal or hongrie . Honestly they have better players than these teams so imo it would be a choke job if they don't beat them.

If both go through, we'll get France - England in the 1/4 .

Still did better than Rooney and Henderson. Shouldn't have been subbed.

Wilshere was the worst England player on the night and could not have been subbed soon enough. So many misplaced passes and purposeless play. Henderson was constantly making positive plays, the same can't be said of Wilshere.

Wilshere was poor but Henderson's "positive plays" amounted to overhit crosses and a first touch that took the ball towards the corner flag.

Neither did enough to start the next game.

Still can't believe what I saw from Rooney. Easily one of the worst displays I have ever seen.

A striker coming on to provide creativity was bad enough. Would have preferred Sterling or Barkley instead

I thought Wilshere was Englands best midfielder tbh. Would have subbed Hendo, who's the new Gerrard except that he's bad at everything Gerrard excelled in.

Generally I think Woy is making strange subs. Wouldn#t have taken off Sturge either.
Sturridge is by far the best player England have.

By far the biggest criticism I have of Hodgson, besides the whole Rooney thing, is his subsitutions.

Against Russia, Rooney was having a great game but he was subbed off for Milner who contributed very little and England lost control of the game.

Against Wales he changed the game by bringing on Vardy and Sturridge but made the strange decision to put on Rashford for Lallana and we struggled for ideas afterwards. Sturridge bailed us out.

And tonight he took off Lallana again, this time for Alli. So one creative player for another in a game where we needed more creativity. Also Kane for Sturridge wasn't great either because the strikers weren't getting service. Sterling or Barkley might have worked better.

Would like to point out how shit Vardy was tonight and how he barely touched the ball in the second half. 100% a sub.
