Probably because they are both FPS with class based mechanics, even if they are vastly different it's not surprising they'll get compared.

To be clear i don't know much though as i haven't played either and forgot all about Battleborn, do plan to give Overwatch a try though.

Not that i care as i only buy digitally or on shopto but plenty of people do so that's a really horrible practice.

Can't remember the last time I bought a game from them, places like TheGameCollection, Simplygames, Coolshop and Shopto have cheaper prices and actually get pre ordered games to you by release day, usually a few days before.

UK Prime users don't even get the 20% off of pre ordered games that US Prime users get, it's useless.

It's only certain games that Amazon have turned into prime-exclusive, but all the same it's nonsense. Their response was basically to say "well, you can either get a free 30 day trial of prime and buy, or go buy from someone else"

I don't know why they're doing it. Prime is good on its own for next day delivery on certain items, but I seriously see no benefit for limiting access to certain items.

I wonder what the percentage is of people who buy games and actually do it from Amazon, be interested to see if it forces those people to look elsewhere.

According to my account I haven't bought a game from them since mid 2014 looool.

I actually buy all my games from Amazon these days. Price isn't always great but next day delivery is convenient. The items they've made prime-exclusive aren't things I usually buy, but knowing they're doing this crap makes me wonder how long it'll be before most games are prime-exclusive.

Tbh I may just follow Amazon's advice to find another retailer purely on principle

Mostly purchase games from the US store as my PSN is US (games release earlier in the US most of the time), sometimes GAME, and shopto

Lol just looked further back if you ignore my purchase in 2014 of Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze i haven't bought a game from Amazon since Fight Night Champion in 2011

Really enjoying Ratchet and Clank tbh, the last two levels have really spiked in difficulty as well which without the OP as s*** Heavy Bouncer weapon i probably would have really struggled. ( and i still died a fair bit) Still feels like have quite a lot to do as well, hopefully the game does well sales wise so we get more of these games.

Would love nothing more than a sequel with a brand new story, weapons and planets etc etc.

The only thing they have in common is class based shooting. Battleborn is more similar to Titanfall and Monday Night Combat and Overwatch is more like Counterstrike and Team Fortress. It's like comparing Quake and CoD. Sure there's a common ground (Shooter with abilities)) but that's where the similarities end. While one is focused on PvE the other has a complete lack of PvE. One has hero progression whilst one doesn't. You wouldn't compare Mass Effect to Overwatch would you?

Nevermind I just thought up of a better comparison - Battleborn is like League of Legends whilst Overwatch is like Bloodline Champions. Yes there is a similarity which makes it seem like they're the same but they're two very different games.

In fairness it's not anything new, for example there are plenty of RPGs which are drastically different ( Witcher and Fallout for example) but because there are core mechanics that both share they will be compared rightly or wrongly.

It's the same case here, i agree with you though they do look to be vastly different games.

Amazon's prices aren't that much different to high street stores. I usually scour the net and find some obscure site to buy the latest game I'm interested in at a cheap price.

This has been me for the past few years. I used to be able to game for 5-6 hours at a time, but now I can't game for longer than 15 minutes without pausing to browse on the internet.

It is probably why I prefer MP shooters  because with shooters you can play one match and feel satisfied, whilst with games like Far Cry or Dragon Age Inquisition you need to play a couple of hours before you feel you've actually achieved something.

All in all though, putting my PC in the same room as my TV and XBO was a mistake. It killed my desire for gaming.

Yeh this is pretty much the reason why I usually prefer MP to SP. With MP you play short 15 min high stakes, competitive/tense matches.

SP you're playing against bots for hours and it's not always fast paced/tense. SP is more of a relaxed atmosphere and it's more about exploring. Easy to get bored when you have a short attention span.
