The guy has played against Liverpool on multiple occasions.

But of course to the this pleb whoever puts on a Liverpool shirts is suddenly a beast and can do no wrong.

I wouldn't say he's crap, and he's only 24 (which is a baby in defender's years) with a lot of very positive tools and talents. A lot of defenders are written off when playing for crap sides or early on in their careers before putting it all together.

I'm not bothered one way or the other about the loan move especially given the circumstances, but in the right team set-up sometimes even 'average' players can look really good if it suits their strengths. Look at the huge difference in Lovren between Rodgers and Klopp for example. Under Klopp he's been our best defender (better than Sakho, yes) and under Rodgers people were ready to put him on a pike.

I'm interested to see how the loan deal works out, but as far as I'm concerned it's just a stopgap until the eventual free signing of Matip in the summer.

He was really bad against us for Soton when we killed them 6-1. He was the worst player on the pitch when we beat Cardiff in the Suarez season.

I don't remember him ever actually being a competent player. Maybe when he was first coming up as a youngster he showed potentially but mostly it's the fact that's he's phyiscally huge and can win some headers.

I like our own Jordan Williams as a CB much more and would rather he be recalled and get minutes.

You mean bad team displays or bad teams in general will have their defenders look bad against a team that is much superior offensively in isolated games? Any defender can have bad games. Sakho has had some absolutely disgusting games for Liverpool does that make him a bad player? I will reserve my judgment for when he actually plays for Liverpool rather than writing him off before he steps on the field for us. With that said if you've watched every game he's played in the PL, and focused on him, and have never seen anything positive from him maybe you are justified.

Again, team organization and coaching go a long way to defining how a defender looks in any given team regardless of ability.

Good news. Free signing of a player whose certainly better than Skrtel, Lovren, and Kolo. Would complement Sakho well I feel.

What makes him certainly better than Lovren? The same Lovren who has certainly been better than Sakho this season.

Let's wait and see how good he is when he comes over. I like that most people rate him highly though so it's an encouraging signing...and free.

I didn't say Matip was better than Sakho. I rate sakho pretty highly.

Skrtel on the other hand I honestly base my judgement of a person understanding of football based on how highly they rate Skrtel.

Yeah it does, can't say i have played it since Bojan was the best player on the game but it's still around.

I refuse to believe Liverpool can't snag someone better on a loan deal. Or throw in some youngsters or something, they can't be much worse.

Caulker played for Spurs, I watched probably 15+ games of him not including his games for QPR. So I feel as if I can have a say, and I don't think a person here would disagree with my assessment of him, Art aside, and he doesn't really count.
