Re: Daredevil || Netflix
And I just finished the finale.
HOLY S***!!!!!
This is the best superhero show ever. Absolutely s**ts on Arrow and the Flash and Gotham and whatever else. Agents of SHIELD is one big JOKE compared to this. I'm going to be rewatching it for the rest of the month.
What a ride!

- Spoiler:
- Anyone have any idea who Stick was talking to at the end[ of episode 7?
Also think Claire's reference to her ex called "Mike" might be referring to Mike Peterson aka Deathlok on Agents of SHIELD. I could be wrong but its a pretty solid guess.

Absolutely dark and gritty. Brutal violence. The fight scenes are so damn realistic. For the first time, a superhero actually gets tired while fighting. I've been waiting my whole life to see a show/movie get realistic with that. Sometimes while he's fighting, you're actually scared he might die. Charlie Cox is an amazing actor and a crazy athlete!
The storytelling is fantastic. The character development is top notch. Vincent D'Onofrio as Kingpin is just amazing. Soooo many good things with this show. I'd have to watch it all over again to find a flaw to nitpick at.
Henchmen that are usually pieces of cakes for superheroes to beat up on actually give him trouble a lot of times. I could go on and on. Just watch it. Fantastic show.
- MINI SPOILER BUT NOT REALLY A SPOILER:
When Matt finally gets his Daredevil suit at the end, along with his billy clubs, you can see where it all comes from. He'll probably get another upgrade in season 2 or in the other Defenders shows coming to Netflix but this is a good suit to start with.

Right in the middle of the series and this is been ridiculously good. I seriously doubted it would be this good, but it has frankly been fantastic.
Already heard a couple of MCU references as well
The dialogue in this show is as tasty as any Drew Goddard production I've seen so far.

Bruh bruhhhhh
I probably would have finished this last night if I was not drunk as f. This is a dream come true, they totally nailed Daredevil. How they got a PG13 rating with this show I don't know. The violence and them fight scenes dayummmmmm. And all the characters are extremely well written. Even the filler villains (the Russians were GOAT) are great. Don't know how I am going to get back to Arrow after this, the fight scenes in this show are imo the best in any superhero medium.
Can't wait for Drew Goddard's Spider-Man. I have complete faith in him after this.

It got a Netflix TV-MA rating, which is a mature rating. So no, not PG-13.
I'm in the same boat with you mate. Not sure how I'm supposed to go back to Arrow after this.

3 first episodes so great
This show shits on everything superhero related on TV (except Flash).
Already so much more enjoyable than every Marvel movie not from 2014 and IM1

I'm still tired from my all night binge of this, so I can't type a whole descriptive post out.
I'll just give it a 11/10 and leave it at that.

Up to episode 5.
Gonna bust some myths posted in this thread like 11/10 and being better than any Marvel movie not in 2014.
But it's really good. Better than all superhero tv shows for sure. Can really see the difference between in quality Netflix and CW.

I'm not sure I liked how this show finished, but overall it was excellent.
- Spoiler:
- Killing off such a pivotal character in the Daredevil universe as Ben Urich simply doesn't sit well with me. I really don't understand that decision and suspect I won't until we know what happens in Season 2.

Finished the series today. Excellent. It slowed down a bit at the end but the finale was amazing. Hope we get Bullseye next season. And there were A LOT of setting up for Iron Fist throughout the season.

- Took a quick look out at over forums and it seems the rest of the net is as baffed as we are about them killing him off. Different reasons, but the same outrage. Consensus was that this is the show only major misstep, though there is also some disappointment with the red suit....which I share....not what I expected and it makes him look rather campy.

HOLLLLLLLLY SHITTTTTTTTTT! Two episodes in and HOLLLLLLLY SHITTTTTTT. That fight scene at the end in the hall in episode 2 is literally one of the best I've ever seen. Probably top 3. The camera work and the fighting!!!! Fighting is so dayum realistic, you can actually feel the pain of Matt. Brilliant.
- Spoiler:
- But what I love the most is that they were able to nail the relationship between him and his dad in just those two episdoes. Shits on Arrow and Oliver's supposed "I started this because of my dad". It is so real, you can feel the effect that his dad had/has on him. The emotional edge is right on the dot, and with the dark style there is no way this can go wrong. This is just how I like my stuff.
I actually had tears in my eyes when his dad won the fight. They got that relationship so good

Just finished watching. What a first season
Btw am I the only one that thought the costume looked good? I thought it looked very functional, which was the point. I saw McLewis didn't really think much of it and neither do some reviewers:
Also I didn't realize there are no plans for a second season at the moment, that would be a shame after such a strong debut.

Alan Sepinwall wrote:I'd also like to see some tweaks on the costume going forward. The classic Daredevil costume just may not translate well to live-action — the Affleck movie had a more faithful version that still made him look like he was up for some S&M play — and I appreciate the idea that here it's meant to function both as body armor and a way to make him seem more heroic to the good people of Hell's Kitchen, but it ultimately looks too close to a Batman knock-off costume, when in fact so much of modern Batman has been influenced by Daredevil (because Miller jumped from the latter to the former).

Just finished. What a season It had a bit of almost everything
Constructive and good storytelling. No slow/unnecessary moments, every second of every episode's 50-60 mins was used brilliantly.

- Spoiler:
- Characters were enjoyable. Charlie Cox with his hair (facial included) resembled Affleck much, but he brought a great added personality to Matthew, especially in the softer, emotional scenes. Loved how the oriental old lady laughed in the early parts of the season, I was thinking who was this old, annoying bag just sitting there to annoy lmao. If there is a character I could criticise it would be Karen. Most of the time she came off cringe, and she had this same unconvincing facial expression she used whenever she was concerned. But then WILSON EFFING FISK. LOVED HIM!!!
Such a good villain. I love how they brought and told a deep sentimental background about him. My favourite episode was E08 - Shadows in the Glass, which was basically all about him. He wasn't one-dimensional and evil all the time, but he sorted of fighted/struggled with the 'good' and the 'evil' in him. He seemed vulnerable at many moments. He wasn't just some badass powerful kingpin who seemed unstoppable until Matthew came up with something in the finale to bring him down, and that just makes it more realistic and better. The actor playing him did a great job, he would be my pick of the actors.
So many things they got right. Like the emotional edge from the start which I mentioned in my earlier post. The villain's character arc. Matthew's vulnerability. Exposing his secret to Foggy in this season, and not dragging it out and out for possible coming seasons. Stick was a bit meh imo, and felt like filler, but okay I guess we needed some insight on who made Matt this badass fighter. The child thing was also weird. That child in the car in the Stick episode. But I guess that was just to get Kobu some character build up before his outrage and death.

Re: Daredevil || Netflix
Finished it now
What a fantastic show. Holy shit. One of my favourites of all time easily. Every episode was good for one reason or another.
The characters were all perfectly written. Even minor ones. Kingpin's representation was nice and spot on. Hope he starts wearing more white suits.
Foggy was a good comic relief kinda character. Karen is weird. Something is off about her. Not that she is a villain obviously.
finally, Matt Murdock. What a cast they made with him. Perfectly pinned down daredevil. Liked Stick as well.
I really hope Elektra makes it to DareDevil at some point. Highly unlikely but it will be nice.
I agree with BC on the costume. I thought it was good. Not sure about the complaints.
Season 2 is confirmed btw.
Season one rating = 9.1/10

On the college flashbacks Foggy said Matt took Spanish because of that Greek girl. Pretty obvious it's Elektra. I think next season will be Elektra and Bullseye. They avoided bringing them to the first season to differentiate themselves from the Affleck movie and now that they are established as a top show, I expect these iconic characters to appear now.
Karen is weird. Something is off about her. Not that she is a villain obviously.
She seemed very evasive when she was asked where she learnt Spanish. And Ben Urich knew something about her which looked like was credibility destroying. So this leads me to believe that they will do the comic arc of
