Well, you're a fan, not am owner. You shouldn't get to vote.

If I were free I would vote for the guy that wants to get rid of the minimum amount of money required to run and to instill mandatory experience minimums.

If Laporta stands which is likely then I can't see anyone taking the presidency away from him. He is leading in every poll online and those conducted locally too by the likes of Radio Catalunya. Even a treble can't save Bartomeu with all the controversies and pathetic management he has been a part of for all these years.

Just waiting for the official confirmation of the elections which includes the date I guess, and then he'll formally announce that he'll stand and kick Bartomeu and the rest of this incompetent board out.

Laporta said he's ready to stand for elections and will talk about his plans (manifesto) when Bartomeu officially calls them.

Cat, what are the rumblings over in there as far as who is likely to get the peoples backing? From the outside looking in it sounds as if it's Laporta's job to lose, with Benedito being the second favorite. Doesn't sound like Farre or Bart have as much of a chance

Polls gave Laporta as favourite, Bartomeu and Benedito tied. However if we win the treble, perhaps the socis will sway in favour of Bartu. I hope not.

BarrileteCosmico wrote:It's 76 million to be able to run, right? I know Madrid has similar clauses but that makes very little sense to me. If you are able, why do you need to be rich?

The 76 milion is a bank guarantee, so you don't have to put them forward, you just need a bank to make the guarantee and pay interests on them (which is still a lot of money, but less). Also, it can be paid by the whole board, so in the end it ammounts to some thousand euros per year, but off course you still need to be quite rich.

The thing is that this bank guarantee is required by spanish law, not by Barça's statutes, so no candidate can change it if there isn't a change in spanish legislation.
The bank guarantee is required so in case there are economic loss or missapropiation/embezzlement of funds, the Club can sue and get it's money back from the Bank guarantee, as Rosell/ Barto are doing to Laporta.

EDIT: I googled a little bit and I'm not entirely sure that the bank guarantee is required by spanish law. If someone can investigate I'd appreciate as I also think this bank guarantee should be removed, or at least drastically reduced.

Have the exact dates for the election been decided?

If Laporta comes back do you think he will retain Enrique as coach?

I think he would be very smart to retain Enrique as the coach and let everybody know he intends to.

The only chance Bart has to win is surely based on the fact the team just won a treble. Because everything else which has happened off the pitch has been a mess.

Fans know, the reason we won was because of the players and their staff...they are happy with both. Laporta would be unwise to try and change that side of things for that reason.

dani, that's true but these top bosses have an irresistible desire to have their own men. Rosell obviously couldn't part with Pep when he took over. Maybe as you say Laporta has no choice but to stick with Luis. Maybe our top brass, good or bad, still aren't as hopelessly intolerable as Florentino Perez.

I don't see why Laporta would want to remove Enrique. He made him B team coach in the first place or am I missing something?

The only reason people are questioning it is because of..

1. After the UCL victory, Luis was very vague about if he would return next season. Then he was vague again the following day, he refuses to say he is, just says things are difficult (in the board)

2. All of the presidential candidates bar Bart, have said they plan on bringing back Pep. Which probably leads to Lucho feeling disrespected. This was before the treble though

That's pretty much why people are wondering what his situation is with the presidential elects.

Run down of what I said.

1. I read it was Laporta or one of the other elects, however thats moot now as it looks like Lucho just renewed another season to his contract

2. I bet Bart is going to use keeping Alves/Lucho to go along with the treble to help his case to stay

3. Free...so what steps are next for the elections? I appreciate all of your updates since your closer than any of us to ground zero Smile

Bringing back Pep would be so stupid. We're now a counter attacking team and he'd only makes a mess rather than help.

I'd like to see Laporta back in power. Whilst he's not clean himself, he's a Barca fan at heart, and will always prioritize the football side of things. But one thing thats bugging me lately is his rumoured team-up with Mendez. The man he first got in contact with, when the elections were called in Jan. The last thing Barca needs is a super agent influencing our transfer policy..see ManU and RM.

You don't know yet. The Laporta effect may be irresistible.

On a side note, I read Fartomeu wanted to renew Tata Laughing and it was Zubi's call to bring Enrique. I think I wasn't aware of that or just had a memory brainfart.

Also Zubi needs to be given some credit for Suarez and Rakitic. He might have been a moron but he did do some things right.

Quite sad that he was made the scapegoat while Farto is actually the biggest problem as only he still ties us with Rosell. Not saying Zubi should've remained but he left in a bad way, as in they used him to shift all the blame to him.

Shut up mole, Zubi is an idiot and made countless mistakes and you know it Laughing

Maybe you guys forgot Cesc, Vermaelen, Song, taking 6 transfer windows to find a centerback, not signing a right back in case of Alves left and a million loans...but I didnt.

2015 Presidential Elections - Page 2 Empty Re: 2015 Presidential Elections

Post by futbol Wed Jun 10, 2015 12:17 am

Cesc I don't blame on him. It was a political signing, hardly someone Zubi brought to the club on his own. Just like Neymar. Nothing to do with him, he didn't scout Santos and discovered a gem. It was Rosell's very own project to sign the guy for years and boy did he sacrifice a lot for it, including the reputation of the club.

I don't blame him for Douglas either. 100 % a Traffic money laundering signing by his bosses, Keirrison/Henrique style.

At the same time I also don't give him credit for any of last summer's signings. Suarez every 12 year old tries to sign on Fifa. Bravo was the request of Unzue and the coaching staff. I think the same goes for Mathieu and Rakitic. Just like Aleix Vidal right now is not a signing by Breida but the coaching staff itself demanded him as Bartomeu himself confirms. Only ter Stegen qualifies as a Zubi signing for me.

And that was Zubi's problem. The guy simply didn't do anything. Pretty much every signing was either a big money marquee signing that didn't require the work of a sporting director or signings that were requested by the coaching staff. Maybe Alex Song was also a Zubi signing while Tito asked for Thiago Silva. So ter Stegen and Song.

Dude was a real life slowpoke. Imagine it's 2010. Puyol is injured for a long time and needs knee surgery at 33 years of age. Abidal needs a liver transplant at 32 years of age. Mascherano is the alternative who is turned into a makeshift CB. Now what would any sensible sporting director do in this situation when your 33 and 32 year old defenders need knee and liver surgery? Yeah ... Not sign any defenders until 2014.

Today the temporary board will announce the date of the elections and in the following weeks the pre-candidates will have to get signatures of the socis required to be candidates.
