Re: Germany Wins 2014 World Cup
Feels like hearts been pulled out.
Gut wrenching to say the least.
Anyway full credit to the Germans. They deserve this for the way they have played so far in this wc until the final. In the end fortune favoring the brave I reckon.
Higuain and palacio utter wastes.
Rightly punished for those two unbelievable misses.
Also pathetic substitutions by Sabella, subbing off one of the best player on pitch i.e lavezzi.
And to my fellow devastated Argentine pals, we can all be proud of this effort I believe. Runners up. Hope our time will come in the near future.
cheers

Argentina, your time came and went. 2006-2010.
Riquelme. You did absolutely nothing with him.
Messi. Same as above.
Wasted so much talent by picking garbage coaches.
Now it's back to mediocrity.

agreed with you
the only consistency that argentina had in the last decade was a impotent coach in every wc & copa, although they had 2 of the most talented player in their disposal (one of the best midfield; riquelme) & (one of the best attacking player; messi)

Re: Germany Wins 2014 World Cup
At the end of WC 1990 even though people were disgusted with the quality of the final and the winning penalty was considered ridiculous the world largely agreed that the best team won the tournament. Or maybe one of the two best teams along with Italy.
This time without any controversy we can say the best team in the tournament won the trophy even though some would argue with reason that they were not the best team on the night as Argentina in the eyes of many actually came up with their tournament best performance in spite of ending up on the losing side.
Maybe I could go so far as to say the only truly high quality team in this tournament won the trophy.
Congratulations to team Germany.

Re: Germany Wins 2014 World Cup
Very proud of Argentina's performance tonight However I gotta say, the finishing from Messi, Higuain and Palacio was shit. Those chances should be buried no questions asked. You miss them then shame on you.
I'm just hoping that the next coach can build a solid team with the players at their disposal and get the job done in 2018. This generation of attacking talent probably won't come again (but evidently, doesn't matter how much talent you have if you're in shit form)
As for the golden ball, I believe it was given to the player with the most man of the match awards and that was Messi. I THINK, I'm not sure.
Finally credit to Germany who were clearly the best team in the tournament and definitely deserved something from it.

Thx for the kind words *smile*
Argentina made us really fight for the prize, though. Good performance from them, too.
And now I shall continue celebrating

Re: Germany Wins 2014 World Cup
Good stuff from Germany all WC. This triumph was 12 years in the making honestly. Did everything they needed to do to get to where they are right now. They should rejoice in it and continue to improve. They could dominate again in Russia with the talent that still has yet to make themselves known to the world.
