I would like us to go for him, i know he had very injury prone season but I think we will be able to manage him well at Liverpool. It is just that he and Studge should not get injured at the same time hmm

Keita, 22m € for a 19 year old kid Laughing , I have no idea who d f is Keita from lazio. But imo in this window Origi is enough of risk already :coffee:

I can't believe Toure would be interested in switching to anywhere, so I don't think the move is going to happen.

yeah I think the same too but who knows we are trying to push him through the door. If we really want to sell him, BR will convinve him like "Toure you are a big lad with very good & funny character but sometimes you have to understand that things happen so you should just get d f off"

Don't you dare jinx it Arty Sad.

Why wouldn't he be interested! It's not like we pay him some insane wage and Turkish clubs pay very decent wages.

I don't think Trabzonspor are going to pay him a dream wage. And I remember reading last summer when we signed him that he wanted to stay in the Northwest of England for family reasons (kids going to school there and all). I don't think he's going anywhere.

This rumour has popped up about three times already this window and it has already been quashed at least twice... perhaps the third time will finally stick?

The 1.5m fee pretty much pays majority of his wages from last season so what profit did we make off of Toure? lol

No. The Echo have repeatedly stated that no medical has been scheduled and other reports have stated that his move will only be completed after the final so that he can say goodbye to the Sevilla fans and club with a big match.

Odds on him picking up some significant injury in the match just before he should have his medical?

Summer of 2014: Part 2 - Page 27 Empty Re: Summer of 2014: Part 2

Post by Helmer Mon 11 Aug - 21:44:11

Sevilla face Real Madrid in Cardiff and reports had suggested that it would be Moreno's last appearance for the team he grew up with before joining the Reds.
Liverpool have been in negotiations over Moreno for the best part of the summer and it seems that there is still some water to go under the bridge before the Anfield outfit know whether they've got their man.
It has been suggested that Sevilla initially upped their asking price for Moreno after he was included in Vicente Del Bosque's preliminary World Cup squad.
But the move was revived recently during talks over a loan move for Iago Aspas after Liverpool missed out on Ben Davies and Ryan Bertrand. And while Castro has confirmed that talks were held in the last couple of weeks, it seems that something else has now scuppered the move.

Castro told AS:
"There have been negotiations about ten days ago but today we don't have an agreement.
"The price of the player is well-established.
"If Liverpool pay the price that we want then he will go, otherwise he will stay with us."
so this shit about moreno is still on  I dont want him now really. I think it is taking too much time from Ayre, who cant focus now on a striker which is more important

Just pay the price or move on. Enrique/Can/Flanagan would be fine this year and if one is injured we can go back into the market in the winter. On top of this we should be going for someone better/more proven anyway if we're splashing cash (I'm not going to bring up the same player over and over though).

Ummmm...nope, nope he did not. Eto'o scored 12 goals and Borini scored 10.

Anyway, Eto'o was playing on a team that didn't really play to his strengths anyway. He's still quite quick and efficient at putting the ball away and his experience would be pretty nice to have. The only thing that would worry me are the rumours of his clubhouse problems, but I don't think Rodgers has problems dealing with big personalities.

As far as a footballer goes for a stopgap while either waiting for one of our prospects to step up, or for a big name striker to become available, Eto'o is not a bad stand-in at all. He would score more goals with us than he did with Chelsea IMO.

Eto: 9 goals
Borini: 7 goals *3 of which were penalties

So excluding penalties
Borini: 305 minutes per goal scored
Eto: 144 minutes per goal

I would definitely take Eto'o as replacement for Borini. His experience will be useful in CL as well.

But we still need another attacking player (Striker or wide forward) of starting XI quality.

If Eto'o is the only addition to forward line will be massive let down. But if is just bought in as short term back up to DS (with Origi to return next year) and we add another quality forward will definitely take it

Looks like Kolo might be leaving after all.

How do you feel about Eto'o. We already have an old striker and this one will be expensive.

^ seemingly, he was set to join Ajax before we showed interest in Eto'o, and Ajax don't pay high wages at all. their top earner earns like 40k/week.....so I don't think the "Expensive" tag applies to Eto'o now.

Personally think he's made his fortune in Russia now, and doesn't care much about money now. just wants to play and he hates mourinho now which is always a welcome factor.

Eto'o could still get 10 times more money in MLS/UAE/Qatar....if he decides to join us on considerably lower wages, then it'd be impressive.
