Fahim, as I said, in those terms as in selling the player who is probably not good enough but it was his choice to bring him in. So of course, tactically and other things he has shown he is pretty much flexible

I'm well aware that most teams will spend much more money on an attacker than a defender, but in this case we have an abundance of young attackers already and just bought Remy on top of that. We're already going to have to rotate the players we have, so spending 30m on Rodriguez would make the team better more than buying another 30m attacker.

Natalie Portman wrote:It's amazing that in our first game of the season, we can realistically have a bench of: Jones, Johnson, Coutinho, Markovic, Can/Allen, Lambert, Skrtel/Agger and that's assuming we won't sign a single player form now until then (Which we will).

Why would Coutinho be on the bench? He should be in our starting XI -- unless you think Remy is replacying him. Laughing

If we are to have a "BIG NAME" signing, it'll be at the last 2 weeks of the window imo. ALA Ozil for Arsenal. It'll be our very final purchase.

Hope so. The money is there they really need to make one, or wait until the next transfer window, but it needs to be done.

I actually love this. Borini really wants to be here. Henderson had the same option a year ago and look what he did. I would love to keep Borini and give him a chance...he still has a ton of potential and if he can find his form at Anfield you have a guy that legitimately loves the place...those are my favourite kind of players.

Also with Sturridge, Remy, Lambert, Sterling, Lallana, Markovic, Coutinho, Suso and Borini we have more than enough attackers to make a big splash on a LB (Rodriguez for the love of god Ayre).

If Sunderland are willing to match his LFC wages, I don't quite see why he would turn them down... He'd get ten times the playing time there. Could it be because of that girl from Merseyside that he married, if I remember right? hmm

Anyway, £14m for him was too good to happen, I guess x)

Borini is just looking for a bigger pay-off from us. The inclusion of Patterson in US tour is indication he'll go.

14M is way too good. since Remy is pretty much signed. If Borini decides not to go, you can bid the marquee attacking signings things goodbye.

No. it's just over kill to have 4 out and out strikers (Studge, Borini, Lambert, and Remy) and ANOTHER attacking player. It will make zero sense.

Hopefully Borini will agree and go. I am confident after a talk with BR, this will happen. BR is ruthless in selling players and I can't see it being any different this time.

Pretty sure that Henderson had the option to leave and they let him stay because he wanted to. Suso also wanted to stay here and it certainly looks like he's going to fight for his spot.

I wouldn't say that's 'ruthless'.

Hell, Johnson, Agger and Skrtel are all still here. Razz

Liverpool are set to take their summer spending close to £90million with the £20million capture of Southampton’s Dejan Lovren.

The Merseysiders, who have also agreed an £8.5million fee for QPR striker Loic Remy, moved a big step closer to landing key Brendan Rodgers target Lovren last night.

Sunday Mirror Sport can reveal Southampton have identified Aston Villa’s Dutch World Cup hero Ron Vlaar as the Croatian’s replacement.

The South Coast club's new manager Ronald Koeman confirmed: “Yes, Ron is a serious option – but he’s an expensive one.”

Remy has agreed personal terms on an £80,000-a-week deal after Liverpool triggered the release clause in his QPR contract.

Liverpool went after the 27-year-old French international after deciding Swansea’s Wilfried Bony was too expensive at £19m.

£80,000-a-week

That's pretty steep for a player who hasn't managed to awesome even at 27. And with a five-year contract, it has the potential to be another 'Cole'. I will hope for the best though. Anyone knows what was his wages at QPR/NUFC???

In for Milner. Not sure why when we have Jordan, but Milner is good. Not sure if he's what's needed, though. No doubt he'll only come for "first team" football too, not too sure why he would leave City otherwise. hmm

I too like Milner, I dont know how are we going to set up next season with so many new signings. It just creeps me out when there are so many new players in the squad...it seems like in our initial few games, the starting XI will be very much unchanged from last season (as of now) probably only change will be Lallana coming in for Suarez
