Nah Messi will win it. Ribery was more of a team player last season. Players like Schweinsteiger, Martinez etc were just as important.

Ribery we'll end up 2nd or 3rd imo, Journalists will probably vote more for Ribery. Coaches/Players for Messi...

What has Ronaldo done to deserve even being in the conversation about winning it. He should obviously make the shortlist but shouldnt even be close to winning it. The shortlist is hard to make, but I think the Top 3 should be Ribery, Messi, and Schweinsteiger. Robben should also put up a fight to be in the top 3 and would also be ahead of Ronaldo.

Robben scored the winning goal in a CL final just a few minutes before the game was over. Also assisted his teams only other goal as well. Id take that over 55 random goals against La Liga scrubs any day. Dont think I even need to explain Messi, Ribery, and Schweini being ahead of him.

It's the best individual player, doesn't matter about what the team did.
Scoring 55 goals makes him a contender. Messi won it in 2011-12 when Barca won no major trophy.

I believe Neuer should be shortlisted, but no others. The only others with the talent to be there (Casillas and Buffon) werent at their best.

Ronnies goals are only part of the reason I put him up there. I still see that Messi simply just isn't better than Ronaldo, honestly. If the world keeps accepting Messi as the better player, for whatever reason, then so be it. But at the very least lets not take one away from Ribery, like they've done with Xavi in 2010 and Iniesta in 2012.

Ribery's situation could possibly be compared to Sneijder's in 2010.

Why should Ribery win it, he wasn't good in the CL and didn't carry Bayern to the league Maradona Napoli style, like Messi did?

Messi in 2012, scored 91 goals (all-time world record). He was UCL and Liga top scorer, won the golden shoe and set a record for his National team with 12 goals in a calendar year. also added 22 assists etc..
