I object, such is not an Arab costume. In fact, its exclusive to the oil rich gulf countries, and even then, it is exclusive to those favored by said countries royal families. Hence, such people are a meager 10% or less of the population of the gulf, so attributing such behavior to Arabs is both ignorant and disrespectful (now that you know the truth). The fact is, the majority of the gulf population is not as rich as it should be. Take Saudi Arabia for example, where it manages to get a third trillion dollars anual profit from Oil alone, and yet have more than 400 thousand people living in tin houses (where heat climbs up to 50 C in the summer).
