Manchester United vs Liverpool - Capital One Cup third round

Did everyone just forgot about this or something, we are versing united in like 6-7 hours and no thread, also Suarez comes back this game.

Both on the back of disappointing loses, we'll be both looking for a mid week win to restore some confidence and moral within the teams.

With BR saying his taking these cups seriously and the fact it's united, i don't know if he will rest a lot of players.

Give stevie and DS a little bit of a rest.

It certainly doesn't feel as important to me as the Premier League fixture against United. Very obviously don't want to lose to the Mancs, but if we go out of the league cup in the third round I don't think any fans will be looking back on it as a lost opportunity to win something. It'd be different if this was a quarter-final or above.

Anyway, it would feel great to beat them and observe the reaction it would raise, with United's league start having been less than ideal and their latest result a Manchester derby loss. I might be going out tonight and miss the game, but not sure yet, if I stay home to watch this I certainly hope I won't be left disappointed!

The most interesting thing will be Suarez, I'm sure he'll play a part.

If Rodgers takes Cups seriously, then he can't possibly rest Gerrard & Sturridge (though they can really do with a rest) and give Alberto a start.

I didn't even realize we didn't have a thread. Anyways I hope we play a strong side. I really want to go far in this competition and there's nothing better than twating United at Old Trafford.

For me this game is very very vital for moral, consistency & a promise to deliver by BR.
