Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
I'd prefer Rooney to Suarez.
Rooney has baggage too, I'm not saying he's an angelic model pro or there isn't a history of bad blood between him and Arsenal. He also came off of a subpar season - but I'm not convinced he's "going downhill," especially since he's still just 27 (!) and his game doesn't depend on pace. But overall Rooney's been performing at pretty elite standards in the Premier League since he was a teenager. And at this point his fee would probably be a hefty chunk (pun intended, or no?) less expensive than Suarez - though Patron does make a good point about Rooney's substantially higher wages.
Also, yes, I know Rooney dived to break Arsenal's unbeaten streak ... but he still dives much less than Suarez.

suarez has more agility than rooney and is more of a big game player, plus rooney is fat and ugly so wont look good in an arsenal shirt.

Suarez more of a big game player than Roonay
Roonay turns up in every game, Suarez as of right now is a flat track bully.

why u want Cesc then?
so your comparing Cleverley to Cesc then...why did you even bring up wilshere?
do I really need to say that Cesc is a better option Cleverley? despite the fact they are not similar players at all,
and that is why we are pursuing Cesc because he brings a different dimension that are current midfield doesn't offer.
you guys never used to appreciate Cesc when he was at Arsenal.. and now you want him badly..
but, u aint going to Cesc..
calling me plastic because you have some random idiot friend who i've never met....
why don't you try posting something with some thought behind it not this brainless jibberish

Possible? Won't be surprised since we prefer to do our transfers in secrecy rather than public.

I believe United owe us money for RVP. It wasn't paid in full. It can be done.

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
What were Roma offering? 6.9million? Take it, head for the hills and never look back.
Giroud is handsome enough for an entire XI of Rooney's, gimme a break.
Honestly, Rooney and Suarez are both world class players, Rooney's quality hasn't been downgraded and I, for one, hate seeing diving at Arsenal or anyone damaging Arsenal's image.
Both players would be huge transfer coups, make a massive statement of intent and would command a hefty fee. If Rooney is less expensive, less controversial with the same level of talent, if not more, then go for it. Either would be insane.

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
We're not asking for 14mil for Gervinho ffs. Roma's last offer was 2mil short of our asking price. He'll go for something between 8 and 9 mil.

Would love to have either. But if I had the choice it would be Rooney.
Rooney's experience as a multiple time league winner and playing in champions league finals is being vastly overlooked here

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
According to reports on a number of Italian sites, Arsenal’s Gervinho has agreed personal terms with Roma and now all that is left to do is for the two sides to agree a fee.
While I’m normally skeptical about reports which claims a player has agreed terms before the clubs in this case I think it is safe to assume that it is accurate as Arsenal have been negotiating with Roma for some time now over his sale.
A few days ago it was reported that Gervinho had said ‘yes’ to Roma although what he had said yes to hadn’t been clarified so it was impossible to know if he had merely agreed to the idea of joining the Serie A side or if he was happy with the terms that they were offering.
More information has now come out and it seems as if it was the latter with a wage of €2.7m per year [that’s around £44k per week].
Arsenal and Roma are still a little bit apart on the fee but it is believed that they should be able to sort that out by early next week. Reports in the press vary between €8m and €10m for Arsenal’s asking price.
Do it AW

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Toulouse chairman Olivier Sadran has reportedly told chasing clubs that they will have to match the £8.6million offer from Cardiff City for powerhouse Etienne Capoue if they want to nail down his services.
Midfielder Capoue has been linked with a move to English football for some time and Queens Park Rangers are rumoured to have had an offer for him rejected in January.
Sadran recently admitted that he would be prepared to let the 25-year-old leave for the right price, and reports in France now claim a transfer fee has been agreed worth €10million plus add-ons.
It is also reported that Capoue is hesitating over his future as he expected a contract with one of Europe’s top sides.
“Now the clubs interested in Etienne have to know we will not accept any offer inferior to the one from Cardiff,” Sadran said in L’Equipe. (Sky Sports)
With Gustavo and Ginter out,we should get Capoue and for 8.6mio,it's an absolute steal.
Where is Dick Law...?
