How embarassing...

11.26 injury events per match in the mens game
5.74 injury events per match in the womens

7.2% of male injuries were definite injuries
13.7% of female injuries were definite injuries

Ridiculous study.

Have these guys ever played football?

You can easily suffer lots of contusions and hits that hurt a lot but in some minutes can continue to play.

I even once headed someone else, it hurt me a lot, had to be several minutes out of the field, but could end the game (and I didn't bleed).

Just ridiculous.

Men run faster, tackle harder, weigh more and are generally more aggressive (testosterone). Ofcourse you're going to have more pain in mens football. Put a womans team against Stoke City a cold night in Brittania and you'd have 50 injury events per game for the womens team and 0 for Stoke. Heck, put them against Barcelona and they'd be crying when Xavi goes shoulder against shoulder with them.

On the subject. Imagine a player like Chiellini or Pepe going full physical (not in that way!) against some female attackers. You'd have 50 injury events per attacker.

That wouldn't happen, cause Stoke players would only get near Xavi a couple of times in a game, unless they tackled/shouldered him when he doesn't have the ball, Arbeloa/Marcelo style.

Re-read my post, I never said anything about Stoke playing Barcelona. I said that the womens team would be crying even against Barcelona (who except Pique, Alves and Puyol are pretty weak physically) because it would be too physical for them.

Shouldn't that make everything relative then?

Men weigh more and are more aggressive, they should also be tougher...which would roughly cancel out such a huge increase in fake injuries

....except that it doesnt, apparently

I see your methods of deduction: Humble and respectful = Xavi = Women. However there is no causal link between "Women" and "Xavi" (lol) other than the fact that they are humble and respectful. I agree that men should be better at "taking it like a man" but we've got just as many nerves as women and there are no theories that support us being better at suffering through pain than women except our assumed mental toughness.

I too find it funny that women get less injured, but to be fair, it's a totally different game when men play in terms of physicality than when women play.
