Reminds me of when you desperately press triangle hoping the GK will save your ass in FIFA .

Cachondeo or hacer coña are good translations IMO.

Nah that wouldn't work. A similar phrase would be "hacerse el boludo" but that's more along the lines of pretending to be dumb.

Remember when Madrid fans tried to convince us that he is amongst the best GKs in history?

Re: Iker Casillas
He should just retire and end this. Should have retired when he left Madrid or even a year or two before that.

He is, he just aged bad, and he should have retired when we won the champions despite his mistake, that doesn't changed what he did, Buffon who reckons is better has said so.

Re: Iker Casillas
Iker peaked very early for a GK ... You usually get 10-12 top years of a GK. At 21 he had already played 2 CL finals. In his prime he was fantastic up there with any GK

that's like saying kobe isn't among the greatest nba players of all time because after he had passed his peak sucked and started shooting a ton of air-balls.

Not to do with his goalkeeping but I still laugh when I remember how he screwed up Madrid's last play in the semifinal tie against us last year

Re: Iker Casillas
Marcelo's reaction was essentially my own reaction. Just walk away. A legendary keeper that should have known when his time was up but I don't blame him for staying longer than his welcome. Men and their pride...

Re: Iker Casillas
A glorified Victor Valdes as far as I'm concerned. Great shot stopper in his peak, some great moments like the Robben WC final stop but nothing special overall. Luckily for him he could hide behind the excuse of having a bad defense infront of him for a long time before getting replaced by Diego Lopez by the time he was only 30.
Van der Sar was setting defensive records when he was almost 40. Now that's what you call a legend.
Typical Mehdrid fans for you. Last year they were telling us how James was Ballon d'Or material. Fast forward 12 months and he can't get past Lucas Vazquez and looks on his way out of Madrid.
A couple of weeks or months of form and Madrid fans think their players are prime Suarez level.

GOATdrid fans can't be more butthurt than Mehcelona fans that think that Suarez is close to CR or even as good as R9.

Re: Iker Casillas
Thats what happens when you lose focus. I've played as a goalkepeer and no matter how good you are, if you are not focused on the play and on the ball then this happens.
Maybe he's still got the skill of his peak years but his mind is always somewhere else.
