1000 Games for Sir Alex Ferguson
Yeah, regardless of the fact that we once again almost lost and that if it weren't for van Persie, we would have 3 points in 3 matches so far.
SAF had his 1000 league game milestone today against Southampton. That was also his 599th win.
2 1/2 decades of greatness

SAF .Would have expected more than 599 wins from 1000 though tbh.

The greatest, will never be another SAF
Gotta say that was a pretty uncomfortable win for his 1000th game

1000 league games in charge. If you take out ferguson, the average reign of a premier league manager is 55 games.
Heard this on Sky Sports during the match. GOAT.

I was lurking on Bluemoon and found out that they used to call Man united "rags". No harm done, calm down.

World class coach. Not a whole lot of coaches in sport can be compared with him. He's of the same rare breed of coach as folks like Pat Summitt, Phil Jackson, and Vince Lombardi. They just don't know how to lose. All he knows is winning and that's how it should be.

60% win rate isn't too shabby btw. Keep in mind that these are WINS. Couple that with the number of draws (233) and that leaves only 168 losses in 1,000 matches. Or 1.7 losses in every 10 games played for over 25 years!

This, 60% is a good win percentage.
As for SAF, what a legend. It's one thing to be successful, but maintaining success is hard, and that's what SAF did.
