They are quite similar actually.Both great going forward but marceloo has more flair definetly.Not usually tested defensively but when they are they are usually quite average.Thats why Im worried,for Brazil Marcelo and Alves as the full-Backs didnt work at all.

Alba hasnt been exposed in these euros in which many people will base their opinion on.as you guys said,they are very similar,attacking FBs who leave the defensive part of the game on the background.

We'll see how it works on barca with alba +alves.but i disagree that these 2 fullbacks arent working for us,they have been playing very well.marcelo and alves havent compromised our results..so far

you see even arbeloa looked like the best RB in the world playing for spain

i was watching alba running
aparently italy's defenders were watching too, cause they did shit to stop either him or the ball

no.. Arbeloa was Spains worst player, and was lucky Puyol got injured otherwise he wouldn't even touch the pitch. Razz
I believe this thread can be taken seriously after a season of watching Alba not just the Euros, considering no one here watches Valencia bar the few times Barcelona or Madrid run into them.

This thread is :facepalm: Marcelo has been at the top level of football for a few years now, Alba has prospered just last season imo. How can you comapre them? They are both enjoyable to watch when on attacking runs though

Marcelo is better. He is proven in a top team, is far superior in terms of technique and dribbling. Better passer of the ball as well (has more range). Alba is slightly faster and better in air.

In terms of attack and defence, they are both in the same level in my opinion but with quite different styles.
