DFB Pokal Final 2011/12 in Köln - 1.FFC Frankfurt - Bayern München

Today the ladies of Bayern München fight it out with women's football powerhouse 1. FFC Frankfurt.

In this match, the Bayern ladies are huge underdogs against 3 times UEFA Cup winner (actually Champions League as there is only one European championship for women teams), 7 times German champion and 8 times German Pokal winner 1.FFC Frankfurt.

Compared to the guys, the Bayern München women team has yet to find proper success as they only won the German championship once in 1976, although they reached the 2nd place in the BL six times.

Right now, they play pretty well and managed to contain the 1.FFC Frankfurt so that it is now 0:0 hat half-time.

The FC Bayern München ladies just won the DFB Pokal for the first time against 1.FFC Frankfurt with 2:0. Congrats!

This means if the guys from Bayern München win the DFB Pokal tonight, it would be the first time in history that both the men's and the women's teams of one club hold the DFB Pokal at the same time.

Ah well, 1.FFC Frankfurt still have the CL final against Olympique Lyon to look forward to next week. ^^

Why does the universe hate me? I hope Frankfurt at least take the CL... -.-

The only drawback is - Olympique Lyon are a really strong team and current CL holders. But I'll keep my fingers crossed for the 1.FFC Frankfurt for sure.

At this I was pissed I had to miss the live airing of the men's Pokal final, but when I saw the score line I'm hesitant to watch the replay prior to the CL Final. I am already nervous enough.
