I'd like a National Team section.
Because the "General Football" usually was all about club football, it'd be nice to have a spot for all the NT talks... And I don't feel the Euro Section really covers that, but I might be wrong...

An idea that I'll take up with the other admins is to rename the Euro boards just to Euro 2012, creating a NT board separate from it.

We're also discussing boards for the respective major leagues, but there's concern over whether the ones for Serie A, La Liga and the EPL will actually be used. I know the Bundesliga one will be so that's not a problem.

Well if they are not used, we can easily just remove them.

I hope so, though I'm not too sure, I actually think the Bundesliga thread was only so popular, because it had to be in the General Section, I'm afraid. Not sure if there's need for an entire subsection, but hell, why not try it. Can still move the threads back to General if it doesn't work out.

with threads there of different leagues

or create the sections of the leagues with a stickied transfer discussion

South American Club & International Football perhaps. Would probably cover the Copa America which is bound to get some attention in a month.

Or South & Central Americal Club & International Football

Alternatively, if you would like to make it more broad, it could be the Latin American & Caribbean Club & International Football section. (although I'm not sure if there is anyone from the caribbean here lol)

Either one would do.

An A-League section would be great, however if you're worried that it may be neglected perhaps make it an Asian Football thread so that there's more potential for growth and we can just start A league and Australian/New Zealand national team threads in that section.

Agreed. It would open up for us to talk about player movements, leagues, NTs, AFC matters etc.

I don't know how much interest there are in those leagues, and consider if we do have any Asians here and if they would contribute to it. Whereas I think an Australian/New Zealand specific thread would actually feel just right, and would be quite bustling. There's barely anywhere on the internet that a New Zealand football fan can go talk in, apart from one Phoenix site.
