I always cringe when people draw in their own lines on a pic to prove the ball was over/it was offside

dont sweat the tottenham - chelsea goal controversy. goal line technology is coming, and besides it was tottenham.

Actually looking at your picture the ball doesn't seem to have crossed. Look at the ball's shadow.

Remember, the entire ball has to cross the line to be considered a goal and considering this happened in real time, the ref did the "best" he could have done. And besides, it's Tottenham, does anyone really feel that bad for them?!

anyways you cant use the shadow of the ball because the lights are not 100% directly over the ball shining down, they are angled.

Three day bans for diving WILL in fact be controversial
I can see it now, Madrid get a ban on X player and they start bringing back youtube videos of a Y player that got away with it and essentially claim that Z team paid off that ref.

personally id love if di maria, ronaldo and pepe got bans for diving. it would be deserved imo. its a correct punishment.

now if the standard was not the same across the board for instance then ya i would have a problem with that.

I agree with you fully but I'd have a hard time believing everything will be fair let alone if someone gets banned wrongly.

Meh.. I would ban them for at least 10 games.. That is just me though.. 3 games is soft

Only ban for diving if you also ban defenders shirt pulling, blocking, deliberate fouls ect. Its all cheating but its the tricks of the trade, happens that diving is the least masculine so we cant have that can we? when you deliberately take someone out its proclaimed as "HE TOOK ONE FOR THE TEAM THERE" as if it was a justified and heroic act of self sacrifice.... its cheating just like diving. Hypocrisy

Its not feasible anyway, what wengers describes as "obvious" is not black and white in this. Almost everyone thought eduardo "obviously" dived vs celtic, except wenger (and myself) who vehemently defended him and later proved there was contact (it was my opinion he lost balance due to the congested space between himself, the keeper, and the ball, whereby he ended up stumbling with added contact from the keeper, agree or not it is a feasible scenario)

Krasic was ban for diving in 2010 after video evidnce in Serie A. So was other players. 3 game is too much.
