The amount of times you have chosen to not believe quotes from a player because it suits you yet you believe this one because it's DL4

I don't think there's any one standard that can be applied to it. You'd be wisest to examine the reasons the speaker of such quotes would have to lie, or to tell the truth, and their interests in either.

When Mourinho went on and on in the first half of last season about how great our strikers are and how happy he was with them, we had reason to believe he was saying that not because he believed it or because it was true, but because it was in his own and our own best interests to say such a thing. When Luiz says he wanted to leave Chelsea rather than being forced out, what has he to gain from that if it wasn't the truth? If anything, the latter (his being forced out) makes him come out of it looking alot better as far as our fans are concerned.

Thats a poor example, everyone knew he was BSing.

Yes, but why did they? Because, as I said, they all knew he had a personal interest in doing so.


What is Luiz's personal interest in, according to you, lying about the catalyst of his exit?

If I wasn't too busy with my thesis, I'd dig up all the times you doubted quotes from players.

If I did, it was because I believed there was reason to.
