How highly do you rate Thomas Mueller?

I'm looking at the voting of the Ballon D'Or and quite a few highly rated managers put him in their podium, such as Cesare Prandelli and Vicente del Bosque. I don't think he's quite deserving of that, but what do you think of him?

2 years ago playing in the 3rd german league at Bayern 2.

Promoted by van Gaal to the first team, in his first season 19 goals and 16 assists.

Then comes the WC2010, his first national tournament, 5 goals, 3 assists, best scorer and best youngster of the torunament.

Second season: 18 goals, 19 assists
EC2012 qualy: 3 goals, 7 asissts

not deserving that?

I think he is more important for the German NT than he looks like. There is a reason he won the Golden Boot at the World Cup before other notable strikers.

Very, very underrated player shunned because he's not as flashy as other German products such as Özil, Göze, Marin, etc.

He's just as good as them, IMO, he just accomplishes a different function. Right now he's off form, but he's always a player to look out for. His incredible runs are vital for Gómez since they give him a lot of space and drag a lot of markers from him. Is also a greater goal threat than the flashy guys when in form.

Has his natural position occupied by Kroos since he links up much better and Bayern are possession based, but still does a great job down the right wing.

His stats speak for him

One of the best forwards currently playing. Hugely underrated because he's not flashy. Even when he's off form he's a huge threat on goal and opens up loads of spaces with his runs. The Klose of AMs.

Bayern do you seriously believe he's a top 3 player in the world?

No, but a top 3 player in his age and position.

Not a Messi/Ronaldo/Xavi-type year. I wouldn't have voted for him.

I think that he's at least a top 15 player in the game. He's a very hard worker.

The most intelligent forwad in the game today IMO.

Would be the perfect at the head of Bayern's attack, would distribute very evenly to Robben and Ribery and is a fantastic finisher with both feet.

For me he balances everything, having players as complete as him kroos and Schweim down your spine creates such a unique flow, it's a shame they never use it.

he is a very important Team player. even when he is a Bit off Form he will Always make intelligent runs and work Hard for the Team and create dangerous situations.
