Lionel Messi has been involved in 300 goals out of his 295 matches for Barcelona, contributing to 91 assists and 209 goals. GOAT? banana

If we were basing this on club level alone, then yes he would be by far and away one of the GOATs... But I want to see him perform the same way with Argentina.

Impressive record I admit, but still a flop in NT

I do too, but he is the best player on Argentina clearly - Argentina : 13 matches, 4 goals & 10assists this year.

he still misses way too many chances in the nt.. his conversion ratio must be pretty poor..

I think it has become obligatory to have 200 Messi threads a day.

Even if he rakes up 2000 goals and 1000 assists during his entire career he will always be behind Maradona if he doesnt win WC for his country or atleast coming close to winning it.

I mean I want to see him literally steal the show in one of the major international competitions like the Copa America or the WC. That will instantly make Messi the GOAT imo.

But if he does continue this way for Barcelona for a couple more years, he will definitely be in the top 5 GOATs for me.

the spanish league in general is basically real and barca winning their games 5-0. that doesn't happen in other leagues as much

Let's see him take a team battling relegation and lead them to their first ever league glory in a competition that is 3x tougher than La Liga (ala Maradona).

These statistics are frankly worthless.

Messi is frankly worthless.

I got to see very little of Maradona and that too only his latter years.

But I am thankful i am getting to see Messi. His agility is marvelous and he is developing excellent play-making abilities.

He is a treat to watch and anyone who says he is worthless this or flop that does not know how to enjoy this game.

Number of times City has beaten their opponent by at least 4 goals = 5

No. times United have = 5

No. times Real have = 6

No. time Barca have = 7

you were saying? :coffee:
