And then Valencia can go through even if they draw but the draw has to be a goalscoring draw....0:0 will see Chelsea go through like Sepi said
Why are Bayern Leverkusen through, they loss 2:0 to Chelsea away and won 2:1 at home, and loss 3:1 to Valencia away and won 2:1 at home.
So if Chelsea and Valencia draws and Leverkusen loss to gent all three teams will have 9 point each, so Chelsea and Valencia will go through because they both had better home record than Leverkusen.
i agree with this.. have the same doubt..why would leverkusen go through considering they have a worse h2h record
No.
Levekusen has got 6 points from 2 gamecs vs CFC and VCF
if Chelsea and Valencia draw, they'd both have 5 points from 3 way head to heads.
Leverkusen are through already

If Valencia can't keep up their game in the second half and gets two goals against them, you can't fault Bayer. ^^chaval wrote:Bayer honestly did not deserve their victory against Valencia
Aside from the two goals, and the header stopped by Diego Alves, they didnt do much
Football is a cruel mistress, man. It's the result that matters. Not what is fair and what isn't. Valencia lost because though they had the better chances, they ultimately didn't take them. Leverkusen took more of theirs and so got the results which favors them. They deserved their victory.

If you argue like this, Dortmund should easily top their CL group now. Fact is - only goals count and if you fail to score, you lose.chaval wrote:Yea, but Valencia played better throughout. Better chances, better possesion. Fairest score imo wouldve been 2-2.

But it just annoys me when a team wins undeservedly.

Re: Bayer 04 Leverkusen
If a team scores more goals, it is never an undeserved win. After all, it just means the other team didn't manage to convert their chances or they let in too many goals themselves. IMO the term "undeserved" only comes in play when there are game deciding referee errors.

I would love it if Arsenal were the only English team through to the knock-out stages.

Not entirely.
Sometimes penalties are given because of a defensive mistake. Doenst exactly mean the other team "deserves" it
