If he gets a Newcastle section I want 2 Sunderland sections.
Both of which have to be above Newcastle on the board

I would like the option to disable sigs. These GIF sigs are slowing my browser.

Re: The Decidedly Unofficial Suggestions Thread
could do with limiting the size of avatars and sigs tbh
some of them have the webpage stretched all over the place
And a more general Premier league section would be nice like on the goal forums.

I suppose it's worth a try (alternatively one of us could sign up for another forumotion forum and check it out)

I think the colour and theme of the forum should be more brighter.
Something like:
http://demo.phpbb3styles.net/Absolution
Or:
http://demo.phpbb3styles.net/1impression

Re: The Decidedly Unofficial Suggestions Thread
I was wondering, how safe/reliable is forumotion?
Is there a possibility that forumotion won't be able to host high amount of traffic, which will result in deleting the forum?
If the site experience errors/bugs, how long would it take for them to fix it?

Re: The Decidedly Unofficial Suggestions Thread
The best part is that that letter limit thing is gone! :d
And for a new layout for the forum, I suggest going with the type we had in the old forums. That is because it simply felt like you were part of the forum and that the topics started there were of some relevance. That is probably because the thread titles was the first thing that stood out, and so you actually felt like clicking on the threads you hadn't read so far because they stood out. That type of layout concentrated more of what was being written rather than the background, which is exactly the problem here right now. There is too much focus on the background, and say for example when you click on the General Section tab, the threads don't really 'say' much to you because their font size is very small and because there is more background space around it, which shifts the focus away from the thread. So any new layout should be like the one before in which the threads stood out and nothing else really, along with the fact that the black and whitish color went together well.

also, if you're ever thinking of buying a domain, i'd suggest not using a name that resembles goal.com in any way since after you start making any ad income they can sue your ass...

Re: The Decidedly Unofficial Suggestions Thread
Some sort of call function by which we can direct a particular user or users to a post we have made which we would like their opinion on may improve the level of debate by providing a way to save good threads which simply fall down the board before posters with the right expertise can pick them up. I'm not saying that only a few people add to discussions, however some people have a greater knowledge of youth/league matters which are often discussed in a very general topic area.
Hopefully the personal nature of the call would reduce abuse as through the anonymous treatment of TMO with the reputation buttons. It may not be easy to integrate, however it's just a thought.

Surely these guys couldn't be sued for using the word "goal" in relation to football, right?
thats a bit like not being allowed to call a cheeseburger a cheeseburger because mcdonalds already did that.

Also please limit signature sizes.
As for the style and layout of the board the mods should pick 5-10 and do a poll maybe in the general section or in the moderator section

Re: The Decidedly Unofficial Suggestions Thread
ok these are my suggestions
1) add the sig disabler, they are too big for my liking
2) add the arrow, to show where you stopped reading/posting
3) show what threads you have posted in-besides the thread..like a dot or something
4)leave the inside thread layout as it is, b/c it reminds us of the old forums :d:
5) add the coffee guy to the smilies
cant think of anything else....well done guys

Disable the frakking language filter, we aren't 10 years old as someone previously stated, we should be able to use it as long its not used at someone.

Re: The Decidedly Unofficial Suggestions Thread
A lot of people have mentioned loads of good suggestions, but one other I cant bear without:
Can we please have the preview of the beginning of the first post of a thread when we hover over the title? Without it, I dont know what the thread is really about. Its a habit of sorts, I guess. Im sure its pretty easy to integrate.
