Here's hoping the Malaysians change their mind or have some kind of disagreement with the site owners.

Rumours flying around this afternoon that the club are in "advaned" talks/negotiations/whatever to purchase the Earls Court site ahead of a prospective ground move there by the year 2020.
Highly likely to be bullshit though.

QPR stadium plans throw the spotlight on to Chelsea's dilemma at Stamford Bridge, where there is no obvious solution:
With all previous plans having come to nothing, and with the club openly admitting there are no longer any current ones, Chelsea search for a compromise that is sensitive to the past while acknowledging the challenges of the future

Thought-provoking article here by Sam Wallace on the challenges the club face regarding the stadium situation.

It is a tough situation, I really wanted Battersea to go ahead, that would have been amazing tbh. I hope we can find a solution sooner rather than later.

Chelsea ready to abandon plans to build new ground:
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich appears to be conceding defeat in his quest to relocate the London club after commissioning a study to explore the possibility of expanding Stamford Bridge and consult local stakeholders about the prospect of redevelopment

Re: Official New Stadium Thread
You cant argue with their reasoning for wanting to build a new stadium though. Having been to both OT and SB, the size difference is huge. That said OT is located in a pretty ugly neck of the woods, of you're not into football or cricket then theres absolutley nothing to see there where as SB is in a really nice area and is much easier to get to via public trasnport.
Its a shame we cant expand SB

Re: Official New Stadium Thread
You're questioning elation at the club not abandoning our home of over a century and instead looking into the possibilities of expanding it?

Re: Official New Stadium Thread
expand it where? its blocked in on al sides, to expand SB youve either got to knock over fulham broadway or move a graveyard neither of which is going to happen. Its either stay the same size or move and grow, not a mix of the two

Re: Official New Stadium Thread
Reports from the Sunday Times say we're in talks with the Rugby Union on the subject of making Twickenham our temporary home while we redevelop Stamford Bridge to around 60,000 seats. If we could, that would be fantastic, Twickenham is 80k seat stadium, So it'd be amazing to pack that place out.
The major hurdle (a part from the paper work to be able to redevelop SB) is the fact that Twickenham is a Rugby only venue so they may not be open to the move.

Interesting to see if this develops.

I was under the impression that there's no room to expand SB without exceeding the number of people/exit restrictions
