Yeah, I know. I do too, but I want to see other people's choices... Its not saying you hate the bottom guy, just that you don't care for them as much as the guys above.

Already I'm seeing some interesting things.

1. You guys put Mascherano so high! He's been here one season and for most of the season I didn't even think of him as being a Barca player. Maybe harsh, but it takes a while, and it takes something serious! He has a great attitude but he hasn't yet endeared himself to me greatly yet. Couldn't believe you put him above Alves and Busquets Jok!

2. Valdes? When I started watching Barca, Xavi was in his baby steps and that is one of the reasons he's my favourite today. He's pretty much been around the whole time I've been a fan. Valdes is the third most capped in the team now, and he's basically been around the whole time too. I've always rated him, and his very passionate. A true cule for me, and I think he deserves a bit more love than this forum gives him. The Catalans even have a song for him!

Sang all along during Man U's warm up, as Valdes was also warming up.

On topic: it's funny how Xavi used to be my favourite player by far when he was not so much recognized, until 2004-05 probably. After that, although I still like him a lot, there have been players that I liked more than him or on par on him, like Eto'o, Messi, Puyol, Pedro or Valdes.

The list is difficult to do, but it would be something like:

Yeah, I like this song. I don't know why you don't make more songs for the players! There's only Valdes' and Villa's (which was before he came to Barca anyway). Then every other player just gets their name chanted, which is really cool, but I like the songs too. English fans have songs for a lot of their players.

I have the same thing, but I think this is the way it should be. They should be favoured first.

Interesting for me, because I've not always been the biggest supporter of his. Before Deco left, I always only wanted Xavi and Deco in midfield, and I didn't really like Iniesta that much. I always sold him on Fifa and didn't think he'd become that big a star. However, since Pep has come in, he's been superb and gets better each year. In real life I'm a midfielder so naturally my favourite players are always mids/attacking mids, this year I've really been learning a lot from Iniesta's game and becoming more like him... I like playing like that, so I'm liking watching him more and more. Though I'll always prefer Xavi and Messi.

8-10 is really equal and based on the what they do at a particular time. For too long Valdes isnt doing anything which means it hard for me to make a special liking for him. But he saves our ass from time to time so I still like him alot. Pedro is so clutch and so often the first goalscorer, but sometimes his general decision making can annoy me. Used to dislike Busi and his lack of physical tools often has me complaining, but some of his moves on the ball are superb, so good I am copying them myself when I play.

Tbf Dani... I can hardly think of a time where Busquets has been outmuscled. Its something I used to always say 'that we need more muscle' in there sometimes, but I think he's just so good in other areas that the fact that he is skinny doesn't matter. He's pretty strong on the ball etc. and generally gets fouled to lose the ball. He's not an animal like Yaya, which is the problem, because he is who we're comparing him to, but I don't think his physique is not at all a hinderance to his play. I should know, I'm exactly the same height and weight as him. Though I'd say I'm more agressive.

Maybe I can explain myself a bit then

I generally dislike players who dive/playact. Busquets and especially Alves are crucial to us, they're world class players and there's really no one I'd trade them for, but I don't like their antics. Iniesta also dives occasionally, it's pretty rare for him nowadays but he does it sometimes. It really irritates me but I'll just try to ignore it, I know I'm hypocritical here lol. And keep in mind that the differences here are extremely small, it's almost impossible to make a list who I like the most so even if a guy isn't in the top 10 I still greatly appreciate him. Valdes is a brilliant keeper but for some reason I've never been so attached to him as I've been to Puyol or Xavi for example. And again, the differences are small.

As for Mascherano, I've liked him ever since he joined West Ham. I've always loved his style and I myself play a lot like him, that's one of the reasons he's pretty high on my list. Afellay was relatively high for me too, I really don't know why is it, I can just sympathise with him for some reason.

I also put Villa very high, that's mainly because he has been my favorite striker for years. I was absolutely convinced he was the best striker in the world during his Valencia days. For me he represented everything that a striker should be.

And I do care about the bottom guys too. Making this kind of lists is just damn hard But I do agree that it's interesting to see other people's opinions.

Oh is it bad? sorry then, just thought it was ok for me to say i only hold those 2 in high regards. they are the truly special players there to me football wise.

Well I just ranked the players that I really like watching and are likable to me.

The rest are equal really, its not that I dislike them. I dont dislike any player.

Nick: I think thats a given, Xavi and Messi are incredible, and most people admire them. Its just I'm mainly interested as to the rest of the list which I know that you couldn't really care about. Nothing wrong with that, only Barca fans really care... thats all I mean, it basically excludes you on that basis.

Yuri: Same as I said to Nick, though you didn't include Xavi... No offense taken, just as I say, mainly interested in things like why is Mascherano higher than Busquets etc.

If I was edgy its just because I'm sick of people trolling here, which makes us sceptical about everyone who comes here, even those like you with good intentions.

no I understand what you are saying, I think your reaction is completely normal. Xavi was actually one of my fav barca players (I might even dare say the favorite for a while), I liked him alot since 03 or sometime around that, he is my kind of player and its amazing how he has mentally grown through the difficult times its really impressed me. I remember him highlighting how he concentrated so much on possession keeping after zidane stole the ball from him in a couple of clasicos and a goal was scored. His reaction after the 07-08 season was magnificent, his come back was one of the best I have ever seen. Thats a great lesson in mental fortitude not just to fellow footballers but to everyone as human beings. I guess in the past couple of seasons my attachment with him has faded and I became alienated by him for non-sporting reasons. Thats why I didnt list him.
