Juventus - Bologna
vs
Two sides with contrasting starts to the season meet on Wednesday, as confident Juventus welcome struggling Bologna to their new stadium.
Juve recorded a second win of the season at the weekend to top the table with a 100 per cent record. Encouragingly, the victory at Siena came despite a drop in performance, a factor former general manager Luciano Moggi was quick to point out could be significant.
Confidence is high, but tellingly, Antonio Conte and a number of players are cautious in their words to the Press, choosing to suggest it is premature to get carried away at this early stage. Indeed, two seasons ago the team won their opening four games, conceding just one goal, before finishing the campaign disparately in seventh.
Bologna may arrive low on confidence, but they represent a marker of progress for Conte’s side, and a further opportunity to reassert their re-emerging status. For one thing, the Emilia-Romagna outfit inflicted one of the Bianconeri’s five home defeats last season.
The Rossoblu, however, are unlikely to offer as much opposition as they did in February, arriving in midweek off the back of a desperate start to the season under new Coach Pierpaolo Bisoli.
Goalless and pointless, defeats to Fiorentina and Lecce could prove more significant than they already seem, with the Rossoblu facing Inter and Udinese immediately after Juventus, presenting a very real possibility of a truly disastrous opening month. Bisoli admitted the team deserved the jeers that greeted them at the final whistle of the Lecce defeat and worryingly pointed to a lack of reaction from his players as a fundamental contribution.
President Albano Guaraldi has come out in support of his Coach, but suggested that where the difficulty of the forthcoming opponents may skew results, that the club needs to see a change in attitude on the pitch.
Keep an eye on: Milos Krasic (Juventus) – The zippy Serb has barely featured so far this season and reports are increasing of problems with Conte. This midweek round is his opportunity to prove himself, although Manchester United are waiting in case Krasic opts to move on.
Form Guide: Juventus (W W - - -) Bologna (L L - - -)
Last season: Juventus 0-2 Bologna
Stat fact: Stretching back to last season, the Felsinei have not won any of their last 11 games and even failed to score in nine of those.
Juventus (probable): Buffon; Lichtsteiner, Barzagli, Chiellini, De Ceglie; Krasic, Marchisio, Pirlo, Pepe; Matri, Vucinic
Bologna (probable): Gillet; Raggi, Portanova, Loria, Morleo; Perez, Mudingayi, Kone; Diamanti; Acquafresca, Di Vaio

Re: Juventus - Bologna
Pepe is a team player
unselfish
and ever present
every team needs a player that is not that skilled but will give his all for the team
did anyone see the siena game? Pepe was the difference
should be an easy 6 points before the milan game can't wait

Juventus vs Bologna Preview
http://www.espnstar.com/football/serie-a/news/detail/item677217/Juventus-vs-Bologna-Preview/
Bologna coach Pierpaolo Bisoli has urged the club's supporters to be patient after seeing luck desert his team in their opening games of the Serie A season.
Saturday's 2-0 home reverse to Lecce was Bologna's second loss in succession to leave them bottom of the standings, a situation in stark contrast to Wednesday night's hosts Juventus, who kicked off the campaign with two straight wins.
A third defeat on the spin looks a real prospect for Bisoli's men, but the coach, who only took charge in May, has demanded time to rebuild his squad before the knives come out in earnest.
"We're playing against a big side, in a wonderful stadium. We need to gradually continue our work, with determination, and try to improve the situation," said Bisoli.
"I've been through the game against Lecce six times. Nothing's gone in our favour, we've been through the mill.
"The public's booing is understandable, but we've been panned by the critics after only 180 minutes. Patience is required.
"This hasn't been my team up until now, it hasn't been a Bisoli side.
"Now results are what's needed, the only useful remedy."
Juve, meanwhile, head into the match buoyed by a perfect start to the campaign which has brought two wins from two, five goals for and just one against.
The expectation is Juve will ease to victory at their new state-of-the-art 41,000-seater stadium, but coach Antonio Conte is preaching caution.
"Nothing is easy," he said. "We are meeting a team that has zero points in the standings but there's nothing to take for granted and we have tried to prepare the game well, despite the short time available."

I dont have any problem with pepe (though he should improve his crossing and dribbling skills IMO), But I really want to see Elia or Estigariba in action this week.and especially Quagliarella

Quags needs to be tried up front with Vucinic eventually. Matri and Vuci linked up for the goal which I am greatful for but as of yet i'm not seeing a great connection. Time will improve but I would like to see how Quagliarella does.

An Elia vs. Milos situation probably won't happen because one plays LW (Elia) and RW (Krasic). Personally, I'd love to see Juve with both of these guys out there at the sametime and playing them against a struggling Bologna would be the perfect time to do it.

Re: Juventus - Bologna
<bump>
From FootballItalia
Estigarribia gets first Juve call
Marcelo Estigarribia receives his first call-up for Juventus against Bologna, while Paolo De Ceglie returns.
Summer signing Estigarribia has been training only due to fitness issues and the time it takes for Antonio Conte to impart his 4-2-4 system.
The Paraguayan is in the squad for Wednesday evening’s game with Bologna at the Juventus Stadium in Turin.
Dutch international Eljero Elia is also hoping for his Bianconeri debut.
De Ceglie is back after missing the 1-0 win at Siena on suspension, but Fabio Grosso is left behind despite starting that game.
Juventus squad: 1 Buffon, 3 Chiellini, 5 Pazienza, 7 Pepe, 8 Marchisio, 10 Del Piero, 11 De Ceglie, 13 Manninger, 14 Vucinic, 15 Barzagli, 17 Elia, 18 Quagliarella, 19 Bonucci, 21 Pirlo, 22 Vidal, 24 Giaccherini, 26 Lichtsteiner, 27 Krasic, 28 Estigarribia, 30 Storari, 32 Matri

I think if Quag. plays..this is a sure 3 points
The man is the best striker we have...he has the confidence to take some far shots & the ability to score them...
Starting him & Matri would be rape
