After 20 years in Gelsenkirchen
He joined FC Bayern München..
And when he came back to the Veltins-Arena.. this is how he was welcomed back.

That's a bit harsh, it's not like he joined Dortmund.

Lol I actually think this is really funny.
Fans can be such ingrates. Point in case: Maldini.

Yeah, the bundesliga has the best fans ever. Harsh indeed, but they have every reason to be bitter.

Re: After 20 years in Gelsenkirchen
If the ingrate Milan ultras ruined the Maldini retirement match at the San Siro. Thanks for the very classy Fiorentina fans for making the final match special though (the one in Florence).
Again, what you can expect from these kinds of ultras of any club. Ultras are fans who are very dedicated to their team, but from the ultra come people who let their love of the club consume their existence, and hence exist as trolls who no longer appreciates the game or the legends but only the club.
As such, those kind of ultras cling into their team more than they should, and appear as stupid bigots. In fact, ultras like those exist in every area of life and translate into; bigots, racists, extremists, terrorists, revisionists, and republicans (this last bit is a joke).
Here is an ultra to prove my point:

Re: After 20 years in Gelsenkirchen
Problem is Neuer was a member of the Ultras so he committed the ultimate sin.
If he was just a longtime Schalker the reactions would not have been as harsh.
As a player he should have never joined the Buerschenschaft-group, you need to keep some distance imo.

Re: After 20 years in Gelsenkirchen
and to think i lived in gelsenkirchen for 5 yrs....
but its understandable. i'd do the same if de rossi left for inter
and i'm sure most of you would do the same if your respective local players left for a rival
iniesta--->real madrid, gerrard--->manutd, etc
if neuer left for a foreign team like manutd, it wouldn't be as bad. but he left schalke and joined the strongest team (on paper) in germany, that's what makes it so sinful. i think i speak for most schalke fans when i say they'd be less upset if neuer joined dortmund than if he joined bayern
honestly i'd be more upset if de rossi signs for inter than if he signs for lazio

You didn't understand my post mate.
I am just saying that the ultra mindset of getting into stuff is not rational, and it may turn into bigotry.
I then said that one ended thoughts on any part in life usually ends up being bad, as all those guy are
biased to their cause that they ignore the rights and wrongs of every other arguments.
I did not say Ultras are terrorist, never implied it at all. Of course I have an idea of what I am talking about
mate, I have a degree is sociology and political science. I apologize if you understood me wrong, I didn't mean
to imply that extreme fans are even close to terrorists, but I meant how that when you become a fan of the club
only, you cease becoming a fan of the sport.
Also, there is two kinds of ultras in football. Those who are hardcore fans and support them stronger than others, and those who just cause trouble to visiting fans are generally a nuisance. The first kind are great, but the second kind are the people I talked about being consumed by the cause, and forget the sport.

Re: After 20 years in Gelsenkirchen
O ok i get your point now thanks for explaining because it did offend me as i was and still am in an ultra group. Less now as i have a serious job, but am always welcome in my stadiums section. I just get worked up when people sometimes accuse all ultras of being crazy hooligans! Lots of us are just hardcore supporters that put the team in front of any other team or any player!!

Sorry if I offended you, and I admit that my point kinda seemed harsh, and I should have made a distinction between the two kinds of Ultra groups. I am editing my post right now.
I respect the dedication hardcore supporters put into their support. It is when the matter evolves into more than a game that it starts becoming not cool.

I know what you mean i saw some bad stuff, people take things to another level with the fighting and property damage!!! That stuff i never supported, i will admit i did take part somewhat, but later on i got smarter and moved on. I still love to cheer the team on with chants and will always wear my team colors not matter what!! I just wanted you to know that not all Ultras are crazy!
