i feel like with new signings coming in, even if it's not a ton of people, a lot of these deadwood players we don't want to see on the team won't even even be making the 25 man roster, let alone getting any playing time... couldn't the club make that clearer to them so that they have more incentive to leave? i find it hard to believe that players could care so little about their careers as to sacrifice a year getting minimal playing time for the higher wages. especially for players like jova and poulsen, who aren't young and had to go through the same thing this past year...

Most of the deadwood will only be sold after August.Apart from England everywhere season starts after window closes.So no one will be in a hurry.

Not sure why everyone is worrying now.I would expect everyone apart from Cole to be sold/loaned out by then.

Question is, who will be dumb enough to pay (fee/wage) for these people!!! Players like Insua, Degen, Aqualini, Ngog, Plesse, El Zhar may have some prospect (due to quality or age); but what's going to happen to Jovanovic, Cole, Poulsen & Konchesky!!!

Cole- No chance i would say

Konchesky-PL experience and cheap.There will certainly be few clubs like wolves would take him gladly for the price mooted.Most championship clubs will take him albeit on loan

Jovanovic-He still has good reputation on the continent.Plenty of interest will be there only sticking point is his wages.But he has a international career to save.SO i wont be surprised if he even takes wage cut to move for regular football.

Poulsen-Hopefully someone will be there though not confident.But u never know he to has international career and Euros ahead of him so need regular football desperately.I wont be surprised if Stoke move for Poulsen late in the window.They usually do business very late and they are regularly linked with him.

The think is the window has not even opened.These sort of players usually move late in the window.These sort of players are always likely to be 3rd or 4th choice for buying clubs.So only would move once they miss out on their main targets.

Konchesky to Some clubs.
Insua to Roma - 4 million.
Aqua to Fiorentina.
Mavinga to Rennes 1 million.
Eccelston = out.

All rumors but 1,2,3,5 are pretty solid.

Konchesky, 30, will fly out to join Eriksson in Sweden tonight for a medical and is set to complete a £1.5 million move, barely 12 months after joining Liverpool.

The former England international was vilified by Liverpool supporters after a disastrous first four months, but Eriksson has moved swiftly to throw him a lifeline.

Konchesky's arrival will take Eriksson's spending past the £10m mark on transfer fees, with Newcastle winger Wayne Routledge also expected to join in the next 24 hours.

One down still 3 to go [Cole Jovanovic and Poulsen] i suppose of last season's high wages disaster signings.

The only one i think we might only struggle to afford Cole.

Now at least there is hope. The window closes in September, right! By that time most of them will leave. BUT, we must be prepared to live with couple of them. At least till winter window.
