Del Piero unsure of future
Juventus captain Alessandro Del Piero says he doesn’t know whether this will be his final season as a player.
The forward will be 37-years-old in November and he is only contracted to his beloved Bianconeri until June 2012.
“It’s not a recurring thought,” he told the Gazzetta dello Sport when questioned on possible retirement.
“Yet knowing that this could be my last season is pushing me to give 200 per cent.
“I’ve still not decided whether this will be my final campaign at Juventus or overall. But, in 20 years, I’ll be happy to look back on this adventure.”
Del Piero has won every major honour with the club, but success has been hard to come by since Calciopoli demotion in 2006.
“We need to be more united than ever to get good results,” continued the 2006 World Cup winner.
“It’s not true to say that if you do everything right then you win, but if you do everything wrong then it’s clear that you won’t succeed.
“To achieve great results you need humility, honour, responsibility and the spirit of sacrifice.”
Juve will be bossed by Antonio Conte this season, a former teammate of Del Piero for club and country.
“He’s a hammer,” Alex explained. “He’s determined, he has clear ideas and is lucid when explaining them to us. To give everything is no longer the objective, it is the rule.
“We have to give our all on a daily basis. If that isn’t good enough then we have to give more than our maximum.”
Juve will also be boosted by the fact that they’ll have a new stadium this term – which will be opened against Notts County on Thursday.
“I hope that the new stadium will allow us to create a special feeling between the fans and ourselves, one that will allow them to give us a helping hand.
“If our fans can become our 12th man then we can go beyond our limits. I hope that the new arena can absorb the winning energy of the Stadio Delle Alpi – that’s what we all want.”

DEL PIERO SHOULD STAY @ JUVENTUS UNTIL HE DECIDES TO RETIRE!
Don't go to any other club & be disrespected like Trezeguet.
U are a true legend & have done more than any other player has done for Juventus...
I would love for him to become a staff member when he retires; him & Buffon.
Forza AleXxXx!!
