Cause it's easier to just sign Porto's best players. Sure it costs money but it's less of a hassle and theoretically less of a risk.

Because its more risky and costs more money.

Plus their scouts don't have the knowledge of South America.

Its perfectly suited to Porto though: under the radar league, style of football and weather is similar etc etc so its less risky.

Not all teams can afford this luxury, if someone in England scouted Jackson he would probably end up on the bench for a year adapting to the culture and style of play and flop like Forlan.

for england i agree,but south americans adapt quickly to spain,germany and italy.

Bayern ceased scouting in South America as they just didn't really have a good hand picking players from there directly. They decided they'd only get South Americans who already proved themselves in the BL and elsewhere in the major leagues in Europe.
