Funny how people don't mention that only 2 german teams are in the EL as well. (Mainz knocked out in the qualifying)

But I guess you all can go back to micromanaging your comments to dissect all the failures of the Serie a.

Crap ones, too. Only Schalke is decent, but Hannover's luck train should be running out soon.

well, mainz shouldn't even be there in the first place. hannover neither and they compensated for mainz' drop out by beating much stronger opposition, which is an acomplishment.

Give 'em time. New squad, and a lot of their players didn't play today. And to be honest, it isn't that bad. They can fight for Serie A now, while A.C and Inter??? tire themselves out in the CL.

Come on, they should have no excuse, it's ROMA, first round europa league, and im sure they outalented that team. What have they been working on so far? bit of a shame.

Did you watch the game, Nick? That team had 11 players behind the ball while Roma (stupidly) had 10 players over the mid-line. Slovan scored a very lucky goal but could've scored more goals after that as everytime they countered it was 3 vs 2/3 situations. Roma didn't take their chances and they paid for it.

This is a good thing for Roma as they will most probably play CL football next season. Too bad for Napoli and inter though...

We missed a lot of easy chances and were made to pay .. They only scored thanks to Marco Cassetti.

The American owners just got control of the club last week I think. I don't think that the Europa League is important to them. They want the CL next year and will be concentrating on the third place in the Scudetto. They are spending a lot of money, I don't know if wisely.

We've brought in far more players than I expected and that's not counting the 4 players from the Primavera that were called up. That's a lot of new faces. Also add to the fact that the core of our players are either injured, suspended, or out of fitness and results like this fail to surprise me. The EL was never our objective, and only was an added bonus.

I personally didn't lose one wink of sleep over this.
