Hoeness being reasonable *gasp

Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness believes the team will struggle to make the Champions League final, despite it being held on their own soil at the Allianz Arena next May.
Even though his team have invested heavily in transfers this summer, bringing in Manuel Neuer, Jerome Boateng and Rafinha, Hoeness feels the strength of other teams will make it difficult for his side to progress. In particular, he cited Spanish powerhouses Barcelona and Real Madrid as obstacles that could prove impossible to overcome.
Rather than making bold statements, Hoeness is taking a cautious approach to matters on the continent ahead of Bayern's play-off second-leg against Zurich which they lead 2-0 on aggregate.
"Our aim is not to reach the final," Hoeness is quoted as saying by TZ.
"At the moment, it is not our goal to get there.
"Look at Barcelona and Real Madrid. When you see these teams play, we cannot currently say that we will win the Champions League.
"We might even play one of these teams in future."
Bayern have yet to qualify for the Champions League proper; they take on Zurich in the second leg of their play-off later on Tuesday evening at 20:45 CET.

Good thing he's being realistic. I can see us challenging the CL once our defense starts clicking and we make a few more depth signings, though. Or with good luck like in our CL final against Inter.

Once your defence is settled you'll do well. Quarter finals atleast IMO.
