Will we enter the QF if we win against Brighton or still another round in before QF?

I think our squad is good enough for a Cup double. Or will that compromise the CL qualification!!!
I want to win some thing. It's been really long since we won any thing.

Nah, mate, you've got a be a fan of a club like Ipswich Town to be able to say that

But a domestic cup trophy would mark very nicely our new direction, which is up.
The game at Brighton's new Amex Stadium is probably going to be a difficult one, they've started the season strongly.

I think the fixtures will be played on the week commencing on 19th Sep., which is Monday, so they'll be all played in midweek.

Would rather the Carling Cup delayed with Spurs recent troubles!

Nishy, w/c means "week commencing" so the matches will be played on that week (which starts on 19th)

Not really. Last thing we won was the FA Cup back in 2006. Look at trophies won by other top clubs since then:
Manchester United: four league titles, two League Cups, one Champions League & one Club World Cup
Chelsea: one league title, three FA Cup & one League Cup
Manchester City: one FA Cup
AC Milan: one league, one Champions League & one Club World Cup
AS Roma: two Italian Cups
Valencia: one Kings Cup
Bayern Munich: two league titles, two German Cups & one League Cup
Werder Bremen: one German Cup
Schalke 04: one German Cup

Well yeah, if you compare us to other big clubs, it's been a while since we've won a trophy.
But if you compare us to, say, all the clubs in the Football League & Premiership, most of them haven't won anything for the past 10-20 years.

Re: Capital one cup 2013-2014 thread.
True, I think we are currently even edging (just) Arsenal in terms of winning trophies. But even them have better records in terms of CL qualifications & performance in EPL & cups.
However, even some 'crisis' clubs have managed to win trophies since we won our last trophy.
Finally, we belong in the same league as Barca, ManU, Milan or Bayern. Yes we have fallen into hard times, but our benchmark remains same.

Well, let's look at it from the point of view that we got the chance to revenge our league defeat in that same fixture..

Re: Capital one cup 2013-2014 thread.
It will be the 4th match in 11 days with a trip to Arsenal before our match. So they will be tired atleast if not fielding a weakened Team.Unlike last time when we had players tired after international break whereas they were fresh.
So we will have the upperhand even if it is at Brittania.
