With the way we came after them in the last fixture, I think they may be thinking the same thing.

Well my fear is because too many tough games at a time would harm our chances or threatens our chances . . we can really do with some easy games . .

We also tend to play better in "big" games. We dropped Chelseas twice within the span of a week and should've done the same for ManCity. It seems as if we let down in "smaller" matches. In all fairness, there have been some incredible performances in goal for the opposition in some of those games, but we should have finished off the games much sooner.

We lost the game on silly mistakes last time we played 'em at the Eastlands... but I see us doing well this time around.

They've just had to play United at home with 10 men, so most of their players will be tired.

No Kompany for either the first or second leg as he's picked up a second red card which is 4 games. Though, Mancini has said he will appeal.

Both Toure's aren't available with AFCON, and Balotelli is still a question mark at the moment.

This is the best time to vs them at the Eastlands, we really need to put ourselves into a good position for the second game at Anfield.

Even without Kompany, Toure(s) & Balotelli their depth is like scary.

We, on the other hand, has to consider preserving our precious little (Gerrard, Bellamy). Carroll, Adam & Downing has to end their stupor.

We need to win the CC. Wining breeds wining. While losing at this stage will be depressing.

Apparently Kompany can play against us...

Silva is apparently injured to bluemoon, but nothing is confirmed.

Really? (to both)

I thought Kompany was supposed to have a hearing ahead of Wednesday's match. If I'm reading this article correctly, I believe that's what it states. City lodge Kompany appeal

Silva's absence would be just as influential as Kompany's. However, I haven't heard anything about him being injured. While I can understand the club wanting to keep that quiet, I can't believe the journos wouldn't be all over that.

Yeah. City lost the appeal thus misses 4 games, which means he misses both games against us.

There was rumours the appeal was going to be on the 12th of January, meaning he'd be able to play until the appeal was taken care of. Why I said apparently. xd

@ DTOR: Silva will be a massive blow for them. But yeah. It's just rumours off of bluemoon so I wouldn't get too excited. Heres hoping though. Razz

With either Cardif or Palace in the final and City missing so many key players, this may be the best chance to end the six-year drought.

So we're facing West Brom away. They f*cked us sideways in the Hawthorns once already this season. I have a strong feeling, our campaign will end in the third round :coffee:

Our opponents from last year's final, Cardiff, were eliminated in the 1st round.

Other rival matches:

Man City vs. Aston Villa
Man Utd vs. Newcastle
Chelsea vs. Wolves
Arsenal vs. Coventry City
Leeds vs. Everton
Carlisle Utd vs. Tottenham

If we do go through, at least one of Newcastle or United will be out in this round :coffee:

Honestly couldn't care less if we won trophies this year (and that's saying something as Liverpool was made to win trophies) but fighting hard in the league is a must. The only way we can compete with other teams is being in the CL or fighting for it.

You could see why players continually pick Spurs over us, we've been medicore for the past 3 seasons.
