lol and not even that, before the transfer happened and just a few days earlier when we were losing heavily to mk dons, and welbeck was flopping big, their fans were mocking him, calling him names, laughing at him left right and center.
all of a sudden when he changed kits and became one of their own, they conveniently did a u turn that too to the extent of some of their guys even calling it the transfer of the season. A scrub overnight got touted as a sensation.

and this general opinion among these guys that welbeck wasnt given enough chances here is the worst among of all of them.
Considering the galaxy of center forwards we had all these  years, he got enough and more opportunities. Last year especially, moyes had a soft corner for the lad and he played a lot as a cf.

The last thing now we should be doing here is speaking for the guy, sympathizing and stuff. Just because he came from the academy doesnt give him a free pass in everything he does.

At the end of the day he did desert us for a rival and even persuaded the club to make the move permanent instead  he could have just gone there on loan and made a similar impact and returned if he truly had something for us.  I am not saying we should treat him indifferently and all. But he is not special anymore for us. Thats all.

Welbeck didn't get chances in Fergie's last season, but he got loads of chances under Moyes.

Let's not forget he played vs Chelsea, City, Liverpool, Spurs and Everton all of them as a #9 last season. If you want to bench RvP and Rooney, you have to turn up in the big moments.

The idiots on that forum praising him now and saying Utd getting rid of him was a mistake will be the same ones who were berating him and calling him all sorts of names whenever he missed a sitter or had a poor game (in which there were many).

And why should Welbeck get any sort of dispensation because he's Mancunian and was part of our academy. At the end of the day, he wasn't good enough to be our main striker and ultimately wanted to join our direct rivals.

And the media want Welbeck to do so well just so they can spite us They badly want our big money signings to flop so that they could say 'told you so, should have stuck with British talent' blah blah.
