A bit kneejerk I know but I'm yet to see why so many pundits predict they'll finish ahead of Arsenal or even Chelsea.

Wes Brown was a beast today btw.

In before "Goal Disallowed" & "Red card not awarded".

Not that I disagree though

we should've won. we have ourselves to blame. Suarez missing penalty and many more chances wasted in the first half. Second half was a borefest.

Sunderland are a very very good team though. I wouldn't be surprised if other big teams like City/Chelsea/United/Arsenal/Villa/Everton draw with them too.

I think I'm missing a team...hmm...Nope, thats it. No other big teams in the Prem

Carrol's hold up play was very good.

Pool had too much trouble creating clear cut chances. Individually there is a lot of talent in that mid, but nothing going together.

Suarez was lively in the first 45, but down beat in the second.

That pretty much explains the game.

Btw, nice comment nick. You clearly didn't watch much of the game. The last 5 minutes was heave-how down the field, but the first 85 was quality.

Stop being upset about the beating madrid received from pool a few years ago. The butt-hurt is so obvious.

Should have gone out of sight in the 1st half itself so we only have ourselves to blame tbh.probably lack of fitness showed in some players

So not really disappointed with the performance just the result. If we keep the 1st half performance we will finish top 4 IMO.Once the new signings integrate well and Gerrard and Meireles get match fit we will be far better same when Johnson/Kelly return.

"I suppose u know the answer yourself.Kneejerk"

I think the knee jerk was when pundits made inflated assumptions on their season based on a few signings, and no games.

Happens to every team

Should of put the game to bed, but (azzures is going to like this =P) Phil Dowd should of brought out the red card. Last man, and PK... it's in the rule books no? But anyway, no blaming the ref. Suarez should of blasted the PK, but had to do a Gyan. :\

Poor defending from Adam, Sunderland whipped ball in and Flanno was caught out of position and conceded with a nice goal. A lot of positives to come out of this game for both teams.

I dont think we played hoofball in the 1st half or even in the 2nd half till we got desperate in the last few minutes. And there is nothing wrong with that.

But no one based it on just signings though. And basing it on one game is kneejerk reaction though.

Wes Brown was apprehended leaving Anfield directly after the match by Merseyside PD...

Apparently left the ground with £35 million in his back pocket...

Stunning goal by super Seb.

Have to say I was pleased with his distribution of the ball.

And Wes Brown was amazing, I wasn't sure about him originally, more excited by O'Shea. But if Brown can continue to play like that with his level of composure and remain fit I think he will be one of the signings of the season.

I still think we need a extra forward to play upfront.

Larsson's goal was quality and Wes Brown played well. We could have a very good season!

Bruce still might go for Bellamy before transfer window ends

Bellamy supposedly only wants to bring Cardiff to the Premier League, Kranjcar would be a wise investment.
