Seen enough shit goalkeeping this year for the next 10 years... all to the advantage of my teams. But it's really ridiculous.

What's happened to goalkeeping ffs.

I expect him to start well because he will be full of energy but two weeks or so in the comp, there will be a drop off because of his fitness

Yeah, that's probably going to happen since he's playing an international tournament pretty much right after coming back from an ACL injury.

I really like the look of this France midfield.

N'zonzi - Kante - Pogba.

That's a very balanced midfield, which should give Pogba all the conditions to shine. What's the likelihood of that being the starting midfield?

I highly dislike that midfield, one of the reasons I say France are not as good in reality as people think they are on paper.

How come? I think it would be very functional as they have complimentary profiles.

N'Zonzi is a good disciplined DM. He has physical presence and is comfortable at distributing the ball. Kante is a ballwinner, whose game on the ball has improved a lot in the last 2 years. Pogba brings that individual talent, and we all know what he's capable of when he's given freedom.

Why is that? N'zonzi in front of the defense has been a rock for Sevilla and both Kante and Pogba will be playing in their favorite setup.

Pogba can actually get away with a bit of jogging with these two next to him.

N Zonzi and Kante basically do the same things and don't really do anything the other one can't do.

Pogba will have to be 2000 Zidane for that to work, this is what I've been saying they don't have a midfield or forwards which fits.

No one on this forum has presented a line up which should work yet, they are basically a group of talented players with no idea of how to fit any of them.

It's basically Belgium all over again but with more talent.

Wrong Mole Nzonzi is far superior when it comes to recycling possession and playing in one touches. I don't even think Kante has a left foot

We can at least agree that it's the best possible trio out of the available players?

In before DD plays Kante and Pogba out of position again just to accommodate Matuidi. :facepalm:

Not enough for me to think playing both is necessary.

I genuinely don't know tbh, like I said I'm struggling to think of a line up which makes sense.

Obviously it's better than Matuidi though, that goes without saying.

That's a great midfield... I think it's down to Tolisso v N'Zonzi for the 3rd CM spot. I just can't see Matuidi retaining his regular spot given his form.

That would allow Pogba to really focus on attacking and will make Griezmann more of a creator with Mbappe and Giroud attacking hard.

Mendy and Sidibe would be freed to bomb forward too with Kante and N'Zonzi protecting them.

I'm hopeful.

I will admit one thing, I maybe over thinking it based on club football when it's very possible most international teams will be a lot worse.

I hope I'm wrong though because I want to see as much good football as possible.

N'Zonzi has much better technique than people know... you have to in order to play in La Liga these days at the upper tier of the league. Past 2-3 years, La Liga basically has taken a lot of physical play away from the game.

He can easily pay B2B on an international level. No problem.

But I actually think it would look like a 42121

Pogba
Griezmann-Mbappe
Giroud

With the fullbacks providing the width and having a lot of freedom to attack.

tbh at this point it is more than bvious that Pogba in his current state doesn't deserve to be starting for France.

They've loads of great midfielders who perform better than him

I don't agree at this point, no. Pogba is just terrible. The Utd move has indeed ruined him.
